Poor lil pumpkin whimpered all night. Never slept - neither did we

Back to the vet and a diagnosis of possible pancreatitis

Several blood samples later poor wounded soldier was covered in blood but never tried to bite anyone (what a beautiful nature)

Now he's in vet hospital for the night on an IV and wearing the collar of shame.

Preying for lil pookie

Awww Hope he is better tomorrow Renton

Thank you very much for asking, and I hope that the doggie is better today.

Meanwhile the season of disruption surrounds us. Boxing Day was a good day out since we had a nearly full ground against the scabs whom we beat 3-0.

After the game and back in the pub I had a chat with Lee Cattermole's Dad. I see him most days but only get to talk to him once in a blue moon.

Sunday we took 7000 to Blackburn but a lot of us were caught up in the aftermath of a serious accident and had to find our way through villages on treacherous road surfaces.

Yesterday we entertained the grandkids and are still in a form of shock.

Garage Joe

Thank you for all the good wishes

Doggy update:

Vet called - all test came back negative, so that's good.

Haymee is so fretful the vet wants us to take him home after he had a nights course of anti-inflammatories and antibiotics to see how he progresses when calm.

Lump under his tail has may need surgery and they suggested the cruellest cut ... castration, which we have declined.

Collecting him at 3pm

Thanx for asking.

They sed the swelling under his tail is common in older dogs (he's eight) due to excess testosterone and the chop will prevent further growths.

However he's been through plenty, is not an aggressive dog and the swelling has gone down after one days treatment with antibiotics.

Oh ... and he's totally ignoring us

Pets do that to you. They don't realise you're trying to help them when all they're getting is prodded and poked and having stuff shoved down their neck (and other places)

My two moggies used to do it to me

like Sprout says he is probably missing them

Been to see owner who is elderly and incapable of administering eye drops due to swollen fingers/joints - plus he's deaf and won't hear doggy crying.

Owner has just been to check on him again and lil Haymee doesn't wanna know.

So its analgesic and bedtime soon as he won't stop whining (since 3pm)

let the vet know tomorrow as that is the reason they let him home- to see if he would settle  if the whining doesnt stop they need to have another look at him

if only they could tell us what hurts   the owner must be very worried too

That's what I used to think too, so it was straight off to the vets if I couldn't solve something myself. Mam used to think I was going overboard but it was a case of stopping anything before it got too far with me. They're part of the family

He must have a pain somewhere.

Calling vet tomorrow as they forgot to give us his antibiotics

I am thinking that as well - dont feed him much in case it is a tummy prob - just water will do fine

they forgot to give us his antibiotics

bet they dont forget to put them on the bill

MrsH

Thanks for asking

Well he's much improved, even barked at the postman this morning.

Eating good, drinking less than usual.

Two bowel movements and plenty of wees

Antibiotics have been given twice and he's much more settled but not back to his normal self just yet. Still crying when we are around but playing with toys on occasions.

Bottom still slightly swollen but not red anymore.
