I managed to be here for the last day of the "all the royals come from Hannover!" celebrations. A series of events taking place in museums all across Hannover. I made a cycle ride to the Willhelm Busch museum where they had a history of royal cartoons dating from the C18th. They didn't mess about in those days, if anything some of the material was more risquÃĐ verging on the obscene showing George having intercourse with Miss FitzHerbert.

Right up to the modern day including Steve Bell. Marvellous stuff and all the original artwork. Thus you were able to see the cut and paste approach from Giles. The Queen had also lent several works of art from her collection. Fantastic morning out.

In the afternoon we cycled for a few hours to a steak house near Castle Marienburg, which is where the Hannover royal family live now. Ernst August still retains the title, Prince of Great Britain. I have very much enjoyed this weekend!

I took Mrs Jer's coven to Newcastle airport for the flight to Turkey. (According to m'flight tracker currently passing over Thessalonika) Dreadful drive up there. Took me time coming back. Passed the Cowgate area so beloved of Cinds and St Renton. Passed Leccy. Passed my ex-forum wife Fizzy Lizzie (messy virtual divorce-don't ask)
To Morrisons where I bought various ingredients and beer.
Now making a large Spag bol.

Since you ask. Went for a bike ride, did some tidying up. Also lots of facebookery. (We were just saying yesterday that no-one uses the term "courting" any more, so I bet Mrs Jer that could get it in a FB thread with relevance. Alas! It caused some measure of consternation)
This afternoon I did some garden clearing and had a chat with my next door neighbour. His friend Lee was killed in Afghanistan and we all went to the funeral. His daughter thought her Daddy would return for her third birthday she's ten this year. We were all thinking of him today.

As an incidental, and probably not very interesting point, I work in an office with two very keen cyclists, the kind that spend an extremely large amount of time cycling (usually some kind of hill challenge or coast to coast challenge) and a lot of money on their cycles and associated equipment.
