Can't afford the tariff so looking elsewhere anything B&B ,guest house or hotel for the one night stay .My friend and I have been online trying to book the Saturday night but to no avail, either fully booked or a minimum stay of two nights required .!!Friend just called me to say it's the May long weekend and the Marathon is on

Aw.. that's a shame - it stinks the way prices are hiked when it's busy.   I was at a birthday do in Edinburgh a couple of years ago and was going to treat myself to an overnight stay, but it was the jazz festival and Madonna was playing at Murrayfield that night, even the Travelodge was charging £175.   The Missoni wanted four hundred quid (and it was full!)   I paid £100 for a taxi home instead.

Kaff even the B&B were  expensive and getting a Saturday night was impossible.

I got one, Ballantra but it was £189 for the night.

Travel lodge £ 199.  

The Ben Doran was £120 but a minimum of two nights required .

My brother is going to pick us up.

If you think that's bad we had three shoplifters, a mugging, two domestics, one attempted murder and some idiot trying to impersonate me in a stolen police car.

We managed to get out on the bikes and back before the downpour. I gathered evidence for the VAT and we watched a lot of telly including Midsomer Murders. The adverts after Coronation Street and during MM were quite worrying. Is that what they think we are like?
