I enjoy the serious topics too, although I don`t join in as much as I used to. I`ve lost my verve due to personal stuff going on but I like reading it.

Lots of great fm`s with intelligence, humour and kindness. Although I don`t say it - I think it and appreciate it very much.   

I really love this forum. We`re a community. We don`t all get along but for me, that`s a spice that makes it work too - somehow.

Scotty! I'm not long back from a little trip...AND you will be suprised to know, I thought of you! I saw a denture place which had a sign ootside saying something about GEGGIE!I LOL will try getting a photo next time.

Thanks Evelyn. I was away working for a few days, came back and caught up on the threads. Some of them had me giggling like a maniac  others had me shouting yes at political points etc....

I thought - this place is good with good people. I always knew it was but didn`t see it properly until I had a break.

I think you`re a major contributor to this forum. Whether folk like it or not - you are. You`ve got on my nerves loads of times and I`ve probably got on yours annaw.   but...without your fiesty ways and independent thinking, this forum wouldn`t be the same.

Indeed - this forum is a 'mini world' it really does take all sorts. It would be boring if it was all back slapping and chummy chummy all the time. Whilst it would be lovely if we all got along 24/7 it wouldn't be very true to life (or interesting). I come on here for a bit of a chat, a bit of a laugh and if there is occasionally a disagreement so be it. 

The one thing I really hate is out and out nastiness - thankfully there's not too much of it about of late.

Discussion, debate, fun and support - that's what I like to see!

I do agree with you Scotty.  It's hard for someone to have views that go against the grain on here, or for someone to be a bit controversial, so it is refreshing for someone to liven up the forum a bit, despite the hard time they are given (by some.)  And Soozy you're right that it wouldn't be much good if we were all backslapping all the time..when we get posts by cupcake and even PP, the threads are always lively!

I think just a bit more tolerance and patience wouldn't go amiss on here, and for people to be allowed to post without being attacked and ganged up on...  maybe challenged and debated yes, but not attacked, and this has happened quite a bit.  (I am even guilty of doing it myself a few times...  )

Upshot is.....It is best to ignore peoples attacks or comments which are clearly put to stir the pot, but it can be hard when someone is baiting you!

I think this forum has settled down to being a nice place for the majority of the time.  I particularly like that it has stayed a small community, and most people know each other now.  I think it would be a great shame if the forum were to grow in size.  It's not nearly as busy as C4, but I don't think that's a bad thing - there is almost always someone around.  And I do think the moderation here is excellent; the mods deal with problems quickly, but are very fair.

I think that is true. I agree witrh most of you, stemming from Scotty'e first post (^^^)
I like the sense of community. Even though I may never have spoken directly with someone I do know their name and feel that I belong to the same group of people.
I have a confession though - there are some posts I cannot understand; some which wander off into the realms of...er....surrealism. But I persevere; I do try to get the gist which might enable me to enter into the spirit. But I sometimes fail.
But I don't mind - I don't feel deprived. I consider it to be people 'on the same wavelength' which I fail to comprehend.  Yet, I think that is good. The wide variety of topics is one of the attractions - from some esoteric and unique interest to late night inebriated ramblings. All part of the fun.
Certain thoughts go through my head  ("Look at them two at it again" or "I don't know any of this music" or "I wish they'd stop it; they've just misunderstood really.") But that is what you get with forums and it is also part of the attraction.
I think fundamentally GaGa has a good heart. That's why I like it.
