Entre nous, we lost control of our eating habits after the festive season and are doing our best to lose some weight.

I'd have never have put those two together.

I think that sandwich is what we would call a threesome. A vegetarian and two meat eaters.

I don't think I've ever tried it with anything though.

You have to try it Ells... it's a match made in heaven.

*ignores GJ's bragging*

But I don't like beetroot Kaffs

I remember my Mum always putting it in salads in the summer and it dyed everything it touched!  I realllllly hated that

I have to remember what's in the fridge and tell the carers what I would like for my brunch (I'm not awake enough much before 11 am. I get yearnings like 2 soft boiled eggs with soldiers, but I'm not with it enough in the morning to enjoy them warm, so I try to think of other things like tongue and black pudding or some outlandish German thing.

Ooooooooooooooh diet wise I had a bad day yesterday. It was my mums birthday ...............daughter did an afternoon tea with lots of yummy sarnies and lemon drizzle cake, chocolate brownies and simply divine scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream. It would have been rude not to have indulged a little.

In the evening we went out too.

The restaurant in our village has re launched and rebranded and it is now one of those places where you can cook your own steak or meat on a hot stone. I could have been really good and cooked a nice fillet steak and had salad ...................did I buggery? I had the calorie laden but simply scrumptious blue cheese burger. Added to that the meze starter was olives, sun dried tomatoes, mozarella, cold meats and breads with various olive oils.

Dreading the Monday weigh in ..................I've got dinner to cook today - I'll resist the yorkies with the roast beef and maybe have just one potato but .....................we have a lovely birthday cake for dessert

Can we go to that restaurant for supper too??

Ells I'm very excited about this new reataurant. It was two pubs together for years and then shut down for a couple of years. It re opened as a high class India/Fusion restaurant - very nice but ....................I didn't always fancy it. I know I'm never gonna be out of the place now .......live music on a Saturday too.

I'd love to have you and your brood to Sunday lunch - shame you live so far

Oh
Aimee

Soozy, I love a good base station where you know you can always get a good meal - live music is always a bonus too

I did a drive-by shop today.

Went all the way over to Rock-a-Nore only to find that there was no where whatsoever to park. The whole seafront was banged out, as were all the bars, cafes etc.  So, whilst we were at a standstill in a neverending queue and going nowhere fast, I realised that I was bang outside the fish shops....conveniently one lad was cleaning the lobster pots.  After a brief convo he bought out my requested order.  How jammy is that?   I ate a bowl of whelks in the car before I'd even got back on to the main road.

Crab sarnies for lunch and then a nice sea bass each for supper.

Sounds nice. I've had chicken soup and I've had noodles but not together.

Homemade is the way to go.

Homemade noodles, hiding your skills there Yogi

That's a step too far for me.

Aw, I was going to suggest it as your starter for CDWM

They'd mark me down for not making my own noodles.

Am I alone in not understanding those restaurants? If I wanted to cook my own bloody food I'd stay at home and pay a lot less for it

I may be asked to leave the thread but I never usually have sarnies for lunch - had a salad again today. Had ceasar salad yesterday, and one with rocket, courgette, soya beans, mangetout and some type of seeds today (M&S)
