i totally understand that there will be an outpouring of grief over what happened in paris and for that matter all over the world where terrorism strikes

so im chatting to someone earlier in the pub who said all this lighting up buildings with french flag colours, 2 (or 1)? minutes silence in the uk, the people on facebook with french flag colours imprinted on their avi's...etc... he's banging on

so i say well its showing people that we can unite

he says its people jumping on the bandwagon

the bar joins in cos its getting a bit loud

half the bar agree-saying its stupid, people getting caught up in the emotion of the barbarity of what happened

some dont give a flying one

some say its good to show solidarity

what do you reckon?

is it too much?

or is it showing a united community to the b*stards?

I think it's the second Pirate Show the devils what people think of them!!

I thought that I chose a rather tasteful avi on FB. It was all quite worrying since our best friends, taking advantage of a non-football weekend, headed that way. They are fine but one feels for people like us going to football matches, gigs, or just out enjoying themselves with a few drinks.

i couldn't help but notice the extra security in Belgium this October compared to July. There were police all over the railway stations. I'm sure they have some general idea of potential crisis at times but no absolute knowledge. Bog knows what it will be like next June/July when we go for the football.

i guess people feel the need to help show a united front against the atrocities

i know i would be extra nervous going to a footie match, theatre, big shopping centre or even just a little cafe ... scary times

I understand, but a life of being 'scared' to live it, is no life...and those doing the 'scaring' have won.
