I rmember when I was 13 and allowed to go into Cologne for the first time on my own to get the books I needed for school, a young man stopped me and asked me to come with him. He would give me a bracelet if I did. unaccustomed as I was to men, I went with him. He proceeded to take my wrist in one of his hands and have a w**k with his other. Then he dismissed me. I've felt dirty ever since.

The best thing about my youth was my Grandma....she was wonderful...cuddly, homely, gentle...everything a Grandma should be and more. I would try and see her everyday and would spend every Saturday trying to wangle a sleepover!! I remember being told that at 16, I was too old to be climbing on her lap for a cuddle...and Grandma saying that you're never too old for a cuddle!! I remember the first time I ever heard her use the f word....the broom broke while we were on holiday....and it still makes me giggle 30yrs later. I remember the New Year she indulged a bit too much and fell out of the door when the clocks struck 12. I remember the way she used to fuss around my Grandad and make sure everything was just so for him. I remember that she always wore Coty D'Amour...I still buy a bottle every year to spray her cardigan that I kept. I remember the feeling of complete love, safety and warmth that I always felt when I was with her.
I wish she was still here....
