Oh yes Katty, the first time I had it I was only a kid and it was all over my chin and above my top lip...ÃĄ lÃĄ Hitler stylÃĐÃĐ

I also got it about 8 years ago, all over the side of my face, my ears, inside of my elbow and knee joints, the backs of my hands and between my fingers, it was horrible and so painful. I had big 'spots of it down the side of my face, I couldn't wear my hair down to cover the weeping scabs as it got stuck to them, I had to tie it back to keep it out of the way and display my oozy scabs to the world

It was most painful between my fingers though, I couldn't even hold a glass or open a door as when it started healing the scabs kept splitting!!! The Doc reckons I could've picked it up from anywhere, pub, peoples kids, from gardening even....it is so contagious....I have no scars though strangely...

I loved the stuff, Scotty. We should start a campaign to bring it back.
Yogi I`ve just googled, It`s back!                                     http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creamola_Foam                                               I remember reading a couple of years ago that the original recipe was lost but someone had an unopened tin from the 50`s at the back of their cupboard so they were doing tests on it...
Seemingly it`s on sale but I don`t know where

Some of you have reminded me of childhood times, like Lucozade always making me feel better, I still believe that lol. Being scared of authority like teachers and policemen, some kids today seem to have no fear of authority whether parents, teachers or the law.

What I mainly remember is never feeling afraid when I took off on my own across fields past cows, pigs, sheep, horses to woods where I'd pick bluebells or daffoldils for my Mum, or along deserted lanes to see where they led even when I was told gypsies were there and they stole children, lol, never came across them as a child, just fearful gossip. Sometimes I'd make up sandwiches and take a bottle of lemonade and go travelling just to see where I'd end up. I'd stop in fields that had buttercups and daisies and I'd make chains of them to put round my neck, I'd share my food with the horses and ponies, pick berries and eat leaves that I had no clue whether they were safe or not, climb trees, jump streams, and somehow arrive safely home in time before Dad said I'd been out too late and they were worried about me. Tbh I feel so sorry for the children of today's world
Yellow Rose
So true yellow rose,I was often left in "charge" of my younger sister and our neighbours son,I would be 12 ,my sis was six and  our neighbours son would be seven..off we go to the park which was about about a fifteen minute walk away with our "fishing nets" and jars to catch the minnows etc,we would take a "Picnic" of sandwiches, and watery orange juice. There were always the water drink small fountains etc if we ran out.We would be away for hours at at time, our mums didn't worry at all,we always came home safe. This would be over forty years ago,no druggies, few drunks etc.
I feel sorry now for children, with so little freedom to explore and roam etc.

My sister and I used to stay at our Nan and Grandad's for a week in the school holidays - it was great! It was in the middle of the countryside and my Gandad worked on the farm. We had fried breakfasts every day and were allowed to stay up late So many happy memories, in the big heatwave of '76 my Nan would run our wrists under the cold tap to cool us down

That disgusting liquid penacillin, white or raspberry coloured  tasted vile, and always made me sicker than what l was ill with in the first place.
Amoxicillian I think it was - you weren't a proper child unless you had loads of this.

I remember the Rag and Bone man but with a horse   Only just mind   and Alpine fizzy pop

Making perfume from rose petals and water. After a couple of days it went brown and smelt awful.
The Sally Annie band coming round and playing in the street and them offering the kids free music lessons to get the kids going to their hall.
The first thing I ever learnt to play on the guitar was 'Michael rowed the boat ashore' but after a few weeks of us just going for the lessons on a weeknight they decided that conversion was not forthcoming with our bunch of little heathens and stopped them
