What do you all do with the leftovers in your household? How long before the turkey and other stuff goes off, ie; Meat, veg, confectionary etc:. Recipes welcome here.

I have frozen a lot of the turkey .
We will be having cold cuts tomorrow with the veg fried for bubble and squeak.
Then, as the Prom suggests, I will be making a huge vat of stew and freezing a lot of it as well as eating it.

If there is too much just scoop it into the freezer and make soup later.

buffet tomorrow and i think we are doing bubble and squeak with the suitable things.
I have the in-laws coming tomorrow - so no left overs for me

its veggies for lunch n tea for 2 days... tis nice tho.. no turkey as i`m a veggie
left over roasties, veg, stuffing, meat etc. - in a pie dish with some gravy over it. Pastry over the top , bake for 40 mins .............DELICIOUS - honestly. I got the recipe from Phil Vickery on This Morning!
We had Beef Wellingron for Christmas day, so just take the beef out and slice it for sandwiches - lovely and medium rare and oh so tender.
Gammon on Boxing Day - I boil it for a couple of hours with carrot, onion and celery and same the stock to make soup tomorow. I have the dried beans soaking and will add the leftover gammon into the soup - best soup, ever!

But what about unexpected visitors and family that keep coming back for more? TBH - I've got a lot less left overs than normal but ...................I'd rather have more than enough than not enough. I'd be mortified if people turned up (which they do) and I didn't have a bit of a spread out for them.

I have just made the mother of all turkey broths - everything went in there - gammon,left over veg, potatoes. There would have been stuffing if it hadn't had fallen out of the fridge this morning and went all over the floor.This wouldn't have bothered me as I am of the adage " you have to have a bit of dirt before you die" and anyway it was going to be boiled which would have effectively killed any bugs However OH thought otherwise so I had to bin it

I like the look of that stir friend shredded brussels and bacon that heston did on the Waitrose ad
I reckon brussels will keep for a couple of weeks in the fridge or garage

That reminds me, someone (I think it was katty) was saying on here the other week about giving the birds bread soaked in fat ... so I did.
My daughter threw it away because it was chicken fat and she said it was cannibalism

Apparently - he dropped it on the way in - licked it to clean it and then gave it to her.

I've got the carcass in the slow cooker now with lots of bits and pieces. I'll use the stock to make a leek and potato soup.
Actually I wont be doing that! it boiled dry overnight
I'm still learning with my slow cooker - only now do I remember reading that it shouldn't be used with cooked meat .
There was a recipe on the net for making stock with the carcass though which i FOLLOWED 'c'est la vie'.

I froze the left over 3 layer nut roast we had in two lots so that will do us for some future dinners.
I made spicy bubble and squeak stars with the left over sprouts and froze them too, all the kids love them when they are at mine and need lunch.
My Mum was the best ever with left overs. We would always have something for dinner on Mondays made with the left over Sunday roast - course I wasn't vegan in those days!

Cooked sprouts. mashed potatoes and some bacon made into cakes, using an egg and some flour to bind, then fry to seal for a couple of minutes, then the oven for about 20 , are lovely. You can add some grated cheese on top too . Made myself hungry now
