I agree, but people who are depressed can think that they are worthless and don't deserve help. That in itself is a sign of depression. They can also become apathetic and don't bother to look for help. A kind supportive word from someone who knows them can act as a catalyst for them to seek help, but don't tell them to snap out of it - that never works.
