ma-in-law gave us a slow cooker the other day-ive been doing stews/soups ever since
todays speciality is beef stew with sweet potatoes, butter beans etc..and spicy dumplings

hmmmmm, interesting. I would say that's more of a 'winter meal' but with the weather down here its quite fitting.

Sounds lovely to me, strangely enough with the bad weather was considering doing that for tea, but decided on the curry instead.

baiscly it's just cod, spuds and green beans all mashed together with butter and lemon juice. Real baby food stuff.
I was a fussy eater as a nipper and my mother used to sculpt it into intesting shapes for me. The tardis was a particular favourite.

It sure does, but I'll skip the pork as a veggie - I love mash and cabbage (colcannon)and I love green beans with a lemon, garlic and yoghurt dressing too.

Ahhhh lemon top drooool.... got friends staying and just been for lunch in Hurworth, the plate of puddings was Drove through the villages on the way home and stopped at that new farm shop in E Rounton: great butchers there too sausages, black pud etc all look fab. Off on the NYMR tomorrow so looking forward to fish and chips from The Magpie
For my common tea I am doing gammon with an egg on top cheese stuffed mushrooms and chips.
