Anyone remember a band called This Island Earth with a song called See That Glow. I think a one hit wonder, but I loved it.

All I can say is that your son has impeccable taste. Does he also like bands such as Autechre etc?

This might surprise you, but I like an Abba tune. Bought their box set a few years ago (you know the big blue box with all the albums in it).

That's cool, no worries - a lot of the bands I like from the Warp label have the most bizarre song titles !!

I'm going to dig out another band your son should hear (if he has not already done so). One of the best scottish bands of all time IMO

Got me thinking of another song I have not heard in months.

Blancmange a band I saw live a couple of weeks ago. And they performed my favourite song too. Thought I would stick this up for everyone to have a listen to.

Oh Slimfern, you have just served up two class tunes there. Golden Brown one of my all times fav songs. Dreadlock Holiday another good tune from wayyy back.

It's amazing how we can have such diverse musical tastes - don't ya think.

you should check out the Libera track. Don't be put off by the Songs of Praise tag, trust me it's a lovely song.

Heaven 17 produced a cover version of the song Are Everything which I think is very good indeed. Quite a simple arrangement, but effective. If you like Heaven 17 and have not yet heard this you won't be disappointed.

Well, if I am going to post a Heaven 17 track, then I must also include one from The Human League. Here it is, a song that I remember from the early days and I could not get off my turntable, Marianne.

Really pleased you enjoyed it Slimfern. I was driving when I heard it, frustrating as I could not write down the title. Fortunately Classic FM list every song and broadcast time, which made the job a whole lot easier.

I am going to buy the album just for that one song.

Another band I saw not so long ago and gave a superb performance was Orbital. They have so many great songs, but the one I am submitting is The Box.
