There but for the grace of god!!! Fire Island! thats in my top ten! (I remember getting separated from my ex when we were down in brighton, and finding my way to this place called the escape bar.... I ended up in the basement dancing with a load of really intimidating but actually really lovely black blokes that I had never met before... to this song!
I hadn't realised the ex had come looking for me and was stood by the wall watching me dance with the locals

I've got a mate who lives in Brighton, she keeps telling me to go down there cos there's a lot of raves that go on on the beach (or Norman Cook/Fatboy Slim does gigs or summat?)
I need to find somewhere that holds a night that does all this back to yesteryear stuff. Surely there must be somewhere in London or on the outskirts?

that night was the first time I'd gone out in brighton. I'd gone away for a weekend with pondlife... but we'd had a row in the afternoon so I decided to strop off out on my own and by sheer luck stumbled across this place called the escape bar. Was a right result. I loved that night... and these blokes ... they looked sooo dodgy but they decided to adopt me for the night....
I then came back & told me mates about the bar, and we went back (with the girls... laughed pond off) quite a few times.
I have heard about the norman cook events on the beach.. I like open air raves.. though the proximity of the sea is a bit of no no ... I think if you go down there, you need to get someone to tell you where to go, so you don't end up in a cheesey touristy place.
I then came back & told me mates about the bar, and we went back (with the girls... laughed pond off) quite a few times.

Sun Rising was the next one I was gonna post! Brighton's not far from me (about 80 miles down the road) so it's worth a trip down. My friend's an old skool raver too so she'll know the best places (her husband's a DJ)
