I would never profess to be a huge fan or even half knowledgable about the band, but they did produce some cracking records. Although I do have a problem with Golden Brown (a song I love to bits), I always sing Gordon Brown and I can't stop.
Found this track today and have worn it out at work.
Some play songs at 11, I play this at 12 and dance my socks off.
This is the way I feel at the minute
Endless red tape to keep the truth confined......
The first synth-line send shivers down my spine.
Truly.
Different generations I guess, and we like what we like.
TBH, I've grown out of a lot of synth stuff, and having said that there is stuff that's good enough to still be played

Interesting way of putting it there Sprout, "I've grown out of a lot of synth stuff". It sounds like you may think synth music is a phase and somewhat childish, something you move on from.
Synths are a mainstay instrument of most bands and have been for many years. But I suspect you mean synth heavy non mainstream music some of which I listen to. I can understand people not liking it or wanting to listen to a lot of it, you do have to be in the mood for some of it I will admit.
But I find synth heavy music can cover so many bases from simple compositions to pop music from complex pieces to extremely challenging. I enjoy the relaxation of Ambient and the equally relaxing (to me) of Ambient Drone and Drone.
Ah, you see, it's late at night, I'm not tired and I have written an essay (NOT a RANT).
BTW Sprout ^ that's not a dig or criticism at you, just wanting to try an show my interpretation of the genre.
My essay brought to mind a good friend who is no longer with us and a timely reminder that I think about him.
This song was one he introduced me to and one of my favourites. The composer Susumu Yokota also passed away recently, too young as well.
No! I certainly do not think synth is childish! and like I said, I still do like some of it, but it's only trying to emulate what the 'originals' did
