Always recall this as a child from Sunday afternoons - back in the days of 3 channels only! Great theme tune... although the last time i started watching the series, a few years ago now, i found it far too cheesy!

Carpenter: Directed the film, wrote the theme tune, played on the theme tune...

take that Waterman

Wonderful theme tune!

I still have this on a VHS cassette taped from BBC2 in the late 80's - Alex Cox' Moviedrome season.

I have it on VHS too, but I noticed the Americans have been treated to a new remastered with correct aspect ratio full featured blu-ray. Unfortunately it's region locked  Otherwise I would have bought it.

I find with most films or series of some age I try to put my head in that time period and forget about all the stuff I've seen in recent years, otherwise I would end up picking to pieces all sorts of films and TV.

I'm not sure why i've never at least picked up a DVD copy as it's such a good film.

While i would agree with this generally, and in most instances, i do think this particular show may have seemed cheesy "to an adult" at the time. The ITC productions were glorious examples of escapism to be enjoyed and many of them enjoy cult-classic status to this day.

I find this a lovely piece of work.

That theme tune (feme choon?) reminds me of my #2 son

Liking the choice of movie's, EC, and I used to love watching The Persuaders (on a Sunday afternoon I think?).  Tony Curtis was well buff in his day

I think I kinda know where you are coming from. I had a similar experience with Star Wars. I enjoyed it at the cinema, but on subsequent viewings I see it is rather camp and cheesy. In fact I have never owned a copy of any Star Wars film on any format.

It was not long after that one of my favourite films of all time was released 'Alien'. Space was never the same again. Although 2001: A Space Odyssey is in my list of space sci-fi along with Dark Star.

As a hetro male I can understand why, Curtis was a good looking bloke.
