Church at 6 pm.

Then out to a restaurant for me and mine, my sis and hers, and my mum.

Then the big 'children' go out on the toot, the rest of us come back to our for coffee and pudding and quizzes and drinkies.

They leave about 11 pm. Littlest daughter goes to bed and pretends to sleep. We get the presents under the tree. The biggies arrive back from the pub. The household goes to bed.

But, I digress, expand on the 'mad carrying on'

Rexi -that sounds so lovely and so xmassy

The mad carrying on will be us dancing round the sitting room to our music and laughing and just enjoying each other's company.

Hubby and i are going out to a lovely little italian restaurant in Motherwell.  My daughter works there part time, and we have gone there for several family celebrations over the last couple of years.  It is small, intimate,  and the food is lovely.

We went last year for Christmas Eve and it was so romantic and the food was wonderful ....it's one of the few things I feel genuinely excited about this Christmas - can't wait!

During the day I will be cutting beef into very very very thin strips and then deep frying the bejesus out of them (ready for christmas dinner crispy shredded chilli beef)...   it takes hours!!

Sending MrDitty out with the "OMG... panic... last minute dot com" shopping list (he is very good at crisis shopping!)

and then...  I have no doubt I will be waiting for the kids to get to bed... and I will be wrapping presents til 3am... like last year!

I really want to go to Midnight Mass but it depends on a few things so gonna see what happens.

Won't be overly upset if I don't though, I am already having the best Christmas I have had in years. Got good people around me, my burrr-yooootiful new Uggs arrived today and I also got a surprise Harrods cashmere scarf pressie in the post *happyhappyhappy*

*wants to know what sort of fings*

Fing fings.

It's one of those go with the flow gatherings, Scarlett.  To save effort, I usually go to the fishmonger down on the seafront and buy a load of seafood: prawns, dressed crab, smoked salmon, etc  (including jellied eels ), stick a load of rolls in the oven and let everyone dive on in.

Ramp up the volume, put on some strappy heels, bit of a party dress and we're good to go.
