I think it would be alot harder pulling a long way from the truck than if he was close to it. And really confidence I think is a minor vice compared to the dimwittedness of most of the others.

"you lot might as well stay in here, i done it before". How big headed and cocksure of himself is here, comments like that only make a person look a complete and utter twat. Because with 2 others helping him that truck should have moved faster and reached its target a lot quicker than it did.

Its not a confidence thing with him..... he was desperately trying to show off in front of Noirin and failed miserably! More fool him for going on the way he did in the first place.....

They thought they were about to go out into the yard to pull from close to the truck (like you see in World's Strongest Man). If they had done that maybe he could have done it. Anyway they succeeded in the task and Marcus being at the front of the pulling was no doubt a large reason for that.

this is very true.

Example.....when my dog is on a short lead, he is easy to conrol but when he is on the extended lead, if he pulls away, it is a lot harder for me to pull him back. It's painful on the shoulders and the elbows.

If the trio had been closer to the truck, it would have been a lot easier for them.

May i also point out that i cant bear Noirin either! She like Marcus i s far too sure of herself (although she does it more convincingly) so maybe they are made for each other after all

What's wrong with a bit of showing off? He's just being entertaining for crissakes.
