Wow and here was me thinking most religions were supposed to be about forgiveness and love?
Horrible people just using God to disguise their nasty behaviour!
its awful jenstar. Ive read alot about these people and it seems they hide be religion to justify their own horrible views!! make me sick
well, that's nice and christian innit
i'll never forgive her for trashing 'I will always love you' but that's a bit strong...
I hope it all goes ok for her family, hopefully now it's out there the security can stop them before they make a scene, although that maybe wishful thinking
Those lot are going to get a shock when they die and head straight to hell. What an absolute bunch of loons.
When those loonies get too much for you, have a look on the web and see if anywhere has the prog where Keith Allen went to meet them.
He trashes them and exposes their hypocrasy

Agreed. They're the furthest thing from Christ imaginable.
IMO, the Westboro Baptist Church has nothing to do with religion, it's all about hate.
They seem to hate everyone, including homosexuals, members of the armed forces and Jews.
Horrible, poisonous bunch of people.
their hatred is based around homosexuality it seems. gay people cause all the problems in the world. If it wasnt so hurtful , it would be funny
Can't get my head round how they can be so full of hate

Nor me Slinki, plus they all have a smirky, sniggery face that i could gladly slap
There is a lot of so called christians who are very unforgiving people ..hypocrites..

Not all who call themselves christians are actually Christian. No true Christian would behave like these people.
There are a lot of sad people around . I wonder what they get out of being such 'haters'

They read the Old Testament?
The funeral is on BBC News 24 now. How very sad.
Watching it too
R.I.P Whitney
In a prepared statement they said, "God gave Whitney Houston a beautiful singing voice and a world-wide platform, which she should have used to encourage obedience to His Word and warn the wicked that their rebellion brings destruction from the hand of God. Westboro will picket her funeral to warn the living: "except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

What? In the bath?
One is reminded of Mo Mowlam and her surprise at people who would go that extra mile to be offended. Not only have people treated these nutjobs seriously but they have also introduced them onto our Forum.
Awwwwww - Kevin Costner . What a beautiful speech!

Is that the prob? If we ignored these peeps and didn't put them on our tellybox, would they stop and go away?
I've just watched the whole of Kevin Costners speech, and while I thought it was very moving, it was far too long and he did spend a lot of time talking about himself as a kid which I thought was inappropriate.
Haven't seen any of the other speeches so maybe they were all that long.

Yes it was a bit long Veggie, nice speech by Kevin tho. A bit too much about others tho and not so much about Whitney IMO. It seemed to be about how Whitney was with THEM and not about Whitney as HER, if you get what i mean. I got the feeling that nobody knew her really well, and that was sad................x
The world would have been a much better place without religion.
Yeah, agrees with Tori, but everyone to their own ........... Just don't try to foist it off on me

Thanks Skylark. I wasn't sure as I didn't see the rest of the service. It's a shame when you're left with the impression that no one knew the person who died.
I had a friend like that. When she was alive we always used to say "Will the real Maria please stand up" as you always felt that you didn't know her.

What bugs me about religion is that there are different rules depending on which country the religion comes from ???? I believe in science as to the worlds origins and evolution and religion only seems to have screwed up the fact entirely.

Just my impressions Veggie, but sad. Heard a lot on the news about her being a lesbian etc, perhaps she kept all that quiet, who knows?? Whitney was a troubled soul, for whatever reasons. Just hopefully she is at peace now x
Shame about your friend, Veggie, but sometimes thats how some people are..but its the people left behind that try to work it all out......x

funny skylark - I really didn't see it that way at all. Kevin did ramble on about himself a lot at the start of his speech, but he seemed to be trying to show WHY they bonded (he must have been about the only white person there) and the end of his speech was so touching. Everyone else just seemed to be recounting what she meant to them... and they seemed to be talking about a totally different person to her public persona.. the whole thing seemed very 'personal' to me.. they were talking about the friend, the family member and not the singer. I never knew how religious she was. The Winans seemed to be family to her, (BeBe choked me up) and Alicia Keyes obviously cared about her so much. I wasn't even intending to watch - I turned on to see if I could see anyone arrive and the choir was singing and I thought 'this might be worth listening to' and in the end I found the whole thing very touching. Even if Bobby did bugger off before it even started because they wouldn't let him seat his nine strong entourage in the family pews...
