I'm not doing too well this year. When she came in I thought she was great. Her contemptuous dismissal of Kenneth was a joy to watch. Unfortunately that just seems to be her default setting. She's obviously a very intelligent girl (check out her use of words like 'diffident' and 'antiquarian' in the diary room). But she's got no emotional intelligence whatsoever. Let's face it, calling someone a bully because they disagree with you's hardly a page from Dale Carnegie. She's barely been in there a month and she's had a set to with almost everyone. They can't all be wrong.

I agree I really dislike her imensly.
She was fine when she was giving the nasties a taste of their own medicine, now it's time for someone to take over that role and do it back to her....my money's on Dave
I think Dave is not a good contender for her, she is far to advanced with her words for him to understand....not a jibe by the way. But who else I do not know.
Don't worry Shirehorse cos many of us were duped by her seemingly sweet nature that was on display, initially.quote:Originally posted by shirehorse:

Couldn't last for ever though, and once the mask slipped - we all saw how nastily bitchy and confrontatinal she can be.
And, hey, don't get me wrong because I am confrontational too but I don't ever try to get others 'on side' in order to say what I feel that I need to.
In fact, my inability to keep my trap shut, to those concerned has mostly made me end up in the brown and smelly stuff, but at least its me alone and I don't try to encourage others to join 'my fight' (that was metaphorial)
I'd rather just do my own thing, really - then I have nobody to blame apart from myself if it all goes tits-up and that's exactly how it should be.
I'm 45 now, and I really think I've passed the point of changing how I approach my manner in fora.
Going from
"Free love - easy-going hippy chick"
to
"Mrs Demanding - confrontational - argumentative - cry baby"
... just makes her look like a huge liar

i dint particularly like her and never did from the start, but she has sort of made an otherwise dull house into a more interesting house, simply because she will start a row and she will baffle the lesser intelligent HMs with her words.
She set out to play the lot of them like a Strad...and, so far, the numpties are letting her. Isn't even one of them emotionally intelligent enough to spot her mean-girl 'manipulate and giggle at the plebs' streak? I get the impression she's revelling in it (and it's her default mode).
I was initially taken in by her but even when I saw her nastier side I have quite enjoyed her games. She pushed it way too far with David though. My bet is that she won't survive long in the house.

Exactly, and again it's going to be another case of Hubris.
I think most of us spotted her manipulative streak fairly early on but we cut her lots of slack because her targets were so well chosen. I still find her the most watchable person in the house but I'm finding her patronising attitude towards those she sees as the proles, and that's pretty much anyone who isn't Bea, more than a bit irritating
I love that! But does that make us 'elitist' or 'snobbish?' Whaddya reckon? Think it does, a bit because everyone who might want to come in and congratulate, or berate, might not know WTF you're on about *cries*quote:Originally posted by subatomic partygirl:

Tell em what it is, Subby They'll love you for it! At least you had the decency to make yourself understood
You don't have to pretend to be thick and 'dumb-down' just be yourself in the hope that others who don't understand WTF you're on about, will ask more questions, and learn something constructive.
That's how I learn. I don't CARE WHO I ask questions of, if I'm not understanding what's going on. I don't feel at all thick. I feel empowered, because I come away knowing something that I didn't know before
I work peeps last nerve, with all the questions I ask
I don't mind watching them argue if they are evenly matched or if there is a point or reason to argue. I think that Bea knows her strengths in a confrontation and she picks her victims carefully. Her fights seem to be premeditated as she spends a few days before hand putting the victim down or trying to make them disliked by other hm's. She can do this in the outside world, but surely in the bb environment it can only happen a few times before the rest of the hm's work out what she is doing.
if she's so smart I wonder how she thinks this behaviour will endear her to the public?
Confronting the badies obviously would do this but not bitching behind Freddie's back and generally being a bitch

Meh ............... we don't do too bad!
We were not all born to be intellectuals - my Father couldn't stand the thought of me being 'artistic' which I clearly am, just because I could put together a flat-pack box of furniture in about 20 mins flat, without looking at the instructions
He was an Architect/Draughtsman/Builder/Carpenter (sounds mad - but you can do all that back home)and wanted me to learn a Trade
We didn't get along at all. Probably, because we were so much alike

I was taken in initally by her niceness and thought she would be a good friend for Freddie, then all that business with Ken happened and her true colours were exposed with her nasty side truly coming out being manipulative and two faced she's playing the game and good on her, but can't see her lasting long in there now.

Agree that the house can be dull but I find Bea cruel and condescending. I could do without her barbed comments and hope she's out this week,
