I did some freelance work years ago for a company which was developing software for use by solicitors as a software tester. Initially for 2 weeks but the quantity of bugs I found resulted in doing work for them on and off for some 3 years

The man who had created that company left and set up another company. He asked me to do the accounts and tax for that company so I took that on as one of my clients. Still a client 23 years later.

what page are you on when you don't see "last reply"? And are you looking at the card view or the list view?

That's the list view. We can't toggle to the card view as that just goes to the list of forums as I mentioned. The colour of the font for last reply is faint so although I can see it others can't.

At present it's RGB 223,223,223  RGB 128,128,128 would be a more visible grey.

What’s the card view please Lori ?

The topics are shown on cards. It's not working at present here. If you want to see what it would look like, have a look at:
https://hey.crowdstack.com/topics?listType=cards

If a topic had a title image (as per my topic on that) you would see that image on the card so it can look better than just the text. Problem with the card view mode is that the last reply link doesn't go anywhere - you can only go to the first post and then go to the last page.

Lori, as I mentioned above, the reason why it' so faint is that it's RGB (223,223,223). As the background is RGB (252,252,242) it doesn't really show. That's why I suggested changing the last reply text to RGB (128,128,128) when it would be readable.

I'm well aware that it's too faint, and WHY. I'm trying to figure out how to fix it, and I apparently fixed the wrong page.

@Lori @Saint A quick tip ....you know the 5 FM pictures next to each thread , if you click on one of them it takes you to that persons post ...so, if you click on the first pic you get taken to the last post in the thread ....eh voila

That's a good tip, @Baz, but he's looking for the first post that he hasn't read. That link is specific to each user.

Lori

I may have found an unofficial work around for the loss of the first unread post. It seems that the coding behind the forum pages has retained some of the coding for that.

On the forum pages which list the topics for that forum look at any topic which you have read before but has since had new posts.
DO NOT CLICK ON LAST REPLY. Instead right click on the last reply and select Copy Link Location.
Paste that into the browser address bar.
From the right delete the text referring to last reply back to the = but not the = itself.
Then add after the = unread (so =unread)
Then press return for the browser to go ahead.
And it seems that you go to the first unread post.
No guarantee that this will always work and of course I hope that the first unread post link returns in the future.

Of course if there's only one post since you last read the topic it would just go to the last post anyway so there needs to be more than one new posting to see this.

I've heard that there will be a hotfix (today, presumably) to fix the bugs that we've reported. I've also been told that if you want the First Unread feature to return, you may want to put in a suggestion. What you might want to do is have one person put in the suggestion (e.g. @El Loro) and then anyone else that would like to do so could just go vote for that suggestion.

Note that there is no guarantee that the feature will return, but it's worth a shot!

Thanks Lori ....if El puts in the suggestion I will definitely vote yes
