Really cold, wet and thoroughly miserable here in NE Lincs. Is it really June?
South Lanarkshire, Scotland:-
Was wet this morning. Currently it is dry and bright, not very warm and with an extensive cloud cover. The forecast says it will get wet again this lateafternoon/early evening but will be clear skies overnight.
So it looks like it might be time to haul up the 'Moon Thread' again, We might actually see something tonight!
One doozy of a storm we've had/are having
Landslides and Metros off
Just announced on the Scottish news that both the East and West coast rail lines to England are blocked by flooding and landslides.
And now we've got brilliant sunshine as the storm must've cleared the air
Very warm here today. About 27 C

YESTERDAY
. . . was one hell of a day.
As i drove home, Newcastle experienced the worst storm in its history, massive thunder and rain. The road really did turn to rivers, the man hole covers lifted together with some of the road (not joking).
I thought my car was gonna be swept away!!!
Next to the bridge i had to cross, the water rose to 6ft, it was chaos everywhere. So i went to the next bridge and slammed into a giant pool of water cos i couldn't see a thing. My car cut out just moments after having it serviced.
I called the car rescue at 5pm - they sed it had to sit there until 10pm I was blocking a major junction too - it was bedlam!!!
When i called home my Mum sed our house was flooding in the garage and rooms at the back of the house. The car was stinking of petrol and making me feel sick so i rolled the windows and the electrics fused meaning all the rain was pouring into the car. A passing mechanic managed to get me started - he sed petrol had sprayed all over the engine and i was lucky it had not ignited.
So i crawled to the nearest bridge to find out it was blocked. I got home at around 8pm - five hours after i had my MOT.
I was soaking wet and the car is a spluttering mess that needs a further repair. I've had to cancel my shift at work on Sunday cos the car aint safe to drive.
In West London it is cloudy and windy and the temp has dropped way down from yesterday!
Rain and some sunshine where I am in Perthshire, doggy sitting for my pal, but I`ve just had a phone call from my son in Broughty Ferry saying that our loft has been flooded. I`ve got lovely antique furniture and precious things up there. I`m dreading going home tomorrow
Oh crikey Scotty!
Scotty that's awful . I really hope the damage isn't too extensive. Rotten luck
Just read Rentons too - hope things are better/brighter today.
I was going to come in here and moan about it raining constantly today, but after reading Saint/Renton and Scotty's posts, things don't seem so bad here.
