Edinburgh is now officially closed
Still got about a foot of snow - in the few patches that have melted it's like a sheet of glass. My husband has just slipped up and hurt himself. I may have to nip out later but it's a bit scary
Snow has all gone and the roads are all clear and dry.......Very cold, dark and grey here today
We've had heavy snow all morning ...and my husband has just phoned to say the M8 is gridlocked and he's in the middle of it
South Yorkshire.
No snow today. Apart from the main roads (which are clear) snow is still lying, in some places quite deep. No noticeable thaw. Bitterly cold and very very icy today.

Oooooooooh - hope he's managing to keep warm. My husband was stuck last week - took him 4 hours for a forty minute journey. Hope he's home soon

My brother is still walking home, he was in the car but everyone is now walking along the motorway.
Halls and sport centres have been opened for people who cant get home ,they have to make their way to the nearest shelter.
Blimey Soozy, hope your husband is ok and hasn't hurt anything except his pride.
That's my biggest fear at the moment, Mr Pink being a taxi driver he is staying out for as long as he can and where I know he is an excellent driver, it's people who may not be quite as good are worrying me at the moment. Kayleigh has been sent home from college today as their heating has broken down and the hairdressing department is currently without water, not looking good for tomorrow. so she is busily FB'ing her friends to tell them the news!
We now have freezing fog to contend with, not as bad as the rest of the country obviously, but it's making driving not much fun at all. Hope all stuck where the snow is heaviest are ok and that family members make it home ok.

Heavy snow,we were just about to set off to Lurgan to finalise some details with the stonemason when it started ,so, after checking forecast which predicts a constant heavy snowfall we didn't go.

He's hit his ribs on a low wall ******ouch*****. I've rubbed some muscle rub stuff into it and he's taken some Ibruprofen ................he can't be too bad he's just gone to my daughters to help her get the decs out of the loft.
The house stinks though! Took me ages to get the smell of that stuff off my hands as well!
My daughter has just got home after four days at her B/F's. One of the large roof panels of her conservatory has caved in - lots of snow everywhere - lots of mess and other panels look in danger of collapsing too! My husbands there digging it out and cleaning up!
Glasgow and central Scotland, badly hit by snow and now freezing temps. My niece left Glasgow city centre(Driving) at lunchtime and it took her an hour and half to get home, normally a 20 min journey. Her fiance just arrived here 15 mins ago,he left East Kilbride at lunchtime! The buses were pulled off the road around 2.00pm,lots of trains cancelled. Many poor folk walking home...it's terrible.

Oooooooooooooh don't like fog in the equation as well. I suppose I can be thankful for one small mercy.

TBH, I think it's more than -1
It was - 2 when I came home from work at 4 pm. Though tbf, we have had the best of the weather here, cold, bit of fog this morning, but very, very little snow.

It's mad Soozy! There's 200 folk camped out in my workplace. No need either, it was apparent very early on today that the snow was settling in for the day, could have closed up then and folk would have had a chance of getting home safe without sitting for hours in gridlock.

Terrible! They had armies of high-vis jacketed guys roaming the roads chucking grit in front of cars.. be better investing in a snowplough or two .

Yeah , well they didn't get the motorways moving by midnight.. M74 is at a standstill.Poor souls that are stuck, it's bloody awful

Flippin freezin again! Google home page for South Tyneside says -7 but Fridays high and low is set to be +7 and +5. We still have some snow on the estates, but a 'path' has been cleared through it, so not too bad for walking at the minute. I'm sick of wearing me wellies and my feet are starting to hurt
Most roads are clear here but pavements a bit treacherous ...................the forecast predicts above freezing for Thursday and Friday so desperately hoping for a thaw!
