Hehe, Hi Muf. I often lurk wthout signing in and the times just look so funny

still covered in snow here in Nottingham, some kind soul gritted the entire of the pavement of one main road but it snowed yesterday and ruined all that hard work.

There is currently a facebook group running to try and get our Uni to postpone exams because of the amount of people unable to make it back (personally I'd rather they didnt haha)

It snowed again here this morning, but barely enough to cover over the cleared ground.

Heavy snow falling again here. Running out of oil and the delivery tanker hasn't been able to get through for the last 2 weeks. Totally fed up with this weather!!

I've just managed to get out to the garage and get hold of a spade and clear a sort of pathway down the drive

I'm just thinking, when it all melts be prepared for flooding maybe

Started off sunny here in SW London, but now grey with snow flurries...freezing cold as well

Been snowing all through the night and all day, it's soooo deep

There was 7 inches on the shed roof and garage roof early yesterdy evening.  So whatever else has gone on top of that through the night and today...obviously that's a flat surface but there are drifts that look a foot and a half in places.

The paths and roads round here are just covered, no one is venturing out so it's not even getting churned up really.  All taxis suspended services at 2 pm today.  A friend called the police for an emergency at 11pm last night-they got to her at 3 am   I have to say they were really apologetic and very helpful to her but this is a 10 minute journey

Know what you mean Leccy, a few nights ago I got a taxi at 6pm....and at 8pm we had managed to travel a distance that usually takes 10 minutes!

Hoying it down again here. 

*sigh*  I've never seen anything like this in my lifetime.

we've not had it like this since '95, but at least then we had a district council that made some effort to keep things rolling.
back then the local farmers used to be contracted to do their local areas so there were no issues like gritters not being able to get up here.

In the last couple of weeks we've had the farmers in their tractors running up and down the streets quite a lot, but they tend to stick to the main streets.We've only had one visit from a tractor in my street, in the whole of the time the snow's been here.

Think that's the year we had it really bad as well. Started snowing late evening and snowed constantly to about 7 the next morning, We woke up to 5 feet in the back garden ('cos it's fairly sheltered), 6 feet in the driveway and 8 to 10 feet in the main street!

No-one was going anywhere fast that day.

we have had no snow since tues and even then it was just for the afternoon but it was heavy (got a snow day off work on weds) - side roads and pavements still full of ice

we are forecast for snow tomorrow

Ta Muf, I hate it. Ours haven't been emptied either. Were sposed to come yesterday, but haven't been either today. I'm not so bad though, I don't have much rubbish so can go a while yet

OMG!!! that's not a dog! it's a teddy bear awwwwwww couldn't you just cuddle him...after he's dried off.

then comes in and looks pathetic.

Once he is dried off.... he runs off and rolls all over daughters bed (hahaha! )

We normally get our bins empied on a Friday, so the council sayit'll be Sunday after Christmas and New Year. Post Christmas was eventually on Tuesday and post New Year WAS Sunday. Now things are supposed to be back to 'normal' our bins have been out from Thursday night and have still not been emptied.
