Been looking around the UK for Friday and it seems the North East aint gonna be too bad.  South and Wales is 80mph!!!

Tonight is not good but not as bad as we expected

Yes it looks terrifying - most places south of Manchester are not good - up here it's no more than 50mph if it's accurate

Yes - i was shocked at the wind speeds for the south, we have 2hrs at 40mph then only 20mph most of the day. Can you stay with someone?

No, I’ve no one to stay with Renton ….I’ll just have to hunker down ….I’ll spend tomorrow removing anything in the garden that I can’t tie down …like the bird boxes etc ….

Safari - so goodie - aherm . . . . It's been gusting quite bad all night and today but I must say we seem to have escaped quite well. No obvious damage anywhere and it's due to cool off after 2pm.

How goes it for the rest of you?

Quite bright with an occasional strong breeze here on the East coast of the South West.

Blowy but not the 60 - 80 forecast. Still, better overcooking it than than doing a Michael Fish - it was worse 3 weeks ago. Blizzard tomorrow.

Hope both are well and stay safe tomorrow

A SevenOaks  Boo-Boo - something was fishy about that forecast.

Always best to overestimate and be prepared - stay safe my friend

It’s looking horrendous for tomorrow ….I’m praying they’ve overestimated .

Warning has gone red where we are…..I’ve had storm anxiety all day while it’s been calm and it’s getting up a bit now but it’s hitting its most severe patch between 7am and noon tomorrow

Thanks hope my big tree and my house manage to stay unscathed….not going out , everything is closing,schools,transport…..big queues in the shops today

What’s worst is that all the Welsh news reporters are reporting from my village as the place most likely to bear the brunt of the buffeting.

Our family live in Llanelli 

Newcastle - this really is the calm before the storm cos there's barely a breath of wind here!

If it's any consolation today we were forecast 50mph winds that never happened - gusts of 40 maybe - so there's hope still

Morning woken at 5 with the noise which has been increasing ,still half an hour before full force predicted .Our street is on the top of a cliff,exposed to the elements so we get the weather full force. Not looking forward to the next few hours. Hope you are all ok and safe

The worst is still out at sea and hasn’t hit land yet…..gusts in the 70s now so feeling apprehensive

Stay safe Amythist …..my son is also now in a red warning area.Not too bad here at the moment , but it’s not due to hit us until mid morning !

There’s just been a picture on the news of our local beach cafe getting it…..they left the chairs out stacked at the back…..going to be gone

Hope it’s not too bad for you Baz,not venturing out just scared for the trees in my garden and seabirds and seals

the weather man keeps saying worse to come and everything’s rattling already 😱
