This is why Jan, Feb and March are rubbish
If I could I would leave the country - these months have no purpose and are depressing.
PLEASE feed them birdies who I fret about in this climate
Bird boxes are a must for the summer

Stay safe everyone. It's bad everywhere but it seems to be worse in Scotland
NEWCASTLE
We've had approx. one inch of snow this evening covering people's footsteps.
Wind has been wiping it off the roofs into a blizzard at times.
God help those poor wild animals

You're lucky. I guestimate we had 3-4 inches of snow though the day. I now think we've had another inch. I've sent pics to other Fm's who can vouch for that and I live in the North East too
NEWCASTLE

I've cleared the path and fed the birds - heaven help them
Scotland

Newcastle - windy!
Poole:

Our garage door has been frozen shut - so literally we've been 'snowed in' over the last few days.
We live on a hill and daren't even try going out in the car.
We are down to 4 toilet rolls.
Oh the humanity !!! I mean . . . humility
NEWCASTLE
IT'S MELTING !!!! . . . . slowly
Still in Poole. No travel to Scotland yet.
It's raining here.

Is that Poole in Dorset?
Omg don't even think of traveling the length of the country.
The A1 north of Alnwick is closed
Yes, Poole in Dorset. And I'm still here and have no intention of travelling today now. Not sure whether I'll be able to travel tomorrow either!
I'm back home - 12 and a half hours on the road!
Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing posted:I'm back home - 12 and a half hours on the road!
what route did you choose?
You must have seen the broad spread of weather conditions across the country.
Any observations?

Bus from Poole to Bournemouth
Train from Bournemouth to London Waterloo
Underground from Waterloo to Euston
Train from Euston to Carlisle
Coach from Carlisle to Glasgow
Train from Glasgow to Wishaw
Car from Wishaw to home
I couldn't see much really and I dozed a lot. What I could see didn't look that terribly bad, but this was after 3 days of clearing up operations! And by the time we got to where one might have expected the worst conditions.........it was dark and could see even less!
Having said that, there still was quite a lot of snow around, like piled up on exposed platforms and such.
I was gripped
Thanks folks.
Newcastle - the big thaw, thank goodness
Thawed a bit up here too, but it'll be a while 'til it's all gone. Even though it was raining when I got into Glasgow on Sunday evening.
NEWCASTLE

Still not gone from everywhere!
Lanarkshire - Drizzly, not too breezy, but rather cold.
I'm going back down again on Saturday 17th. The weather should be a lot better and I should get to see the baby this time!
