Yippee, the new quoting function is here. I think Seattle did an update overnight.

I think the way it works is like this.
By every post there is the quote icon ( double apostrophe) which used to be in the reply box. Clicking on this takes you direct to the reply box. You will see that the poster's post is shown in full, so you may need to edit it to what you want to comment on.

By every post there is now a blue cross. That is for multi quoting. Click on the blue cross by each post you want to quote. Then click on either Post Reply button as before. Then you will see that the Reply box shows all the posts selected.

The other icons which used to be shown on each posting on the right hand side under the post are now shown on the left hand side.

It might have been irritating if you were using IE, but surely no-one actually left for such a daft reason? I didn't like not being able to quote, so I downloaded Chrome, which I just use for this forum.  It wasn't exactly difficult

Fantastic!  

And you don`t have to type in the name of the person you`re quoting. That`s handy because when peeps didn`t do it, sometimes you didn`t know who they were replying to and had to search back.

There are also some minor changes made in the update I think.

If you have a Post Reply box open but navigate to another website you now get a warning message.

In threads which have a poll, the poll results now also show the number of votes for each voting option.

And at the bottom of each forum pages listing the threads there is an Older button (and a Newer one on pages other than the first) but these do the same as clicking on Next and Previous so is just cosmetic.

I think a few did state this as a reason for not posting much here. But I could be wrong.

Ok so I can now quote on my phone but the reply button doesn't seem to work.

The edit button is still there Marguerita

I`m using google chrome and it`s working fine. 

I`m no techy but it could be what you`re using that`s causing the problem.

Hopefully El Loro will come to your rescue.

Marguerita, are you using a computer or an iPhone as there do seem to be problems with using iPhones. If using a computer, what browser are you using?

The edit button has now moved to the left hand side under the post (as is the report button), the quote buttons are where the edit button used to be.

Marguerita, I have received your PM where you say you use a macbook with Safari. I can see that Baz also uses Safari and is able to post and quote but I don't know if with a pc or a mac.

I don't use a mac or Safari and so it's difficult for me to make useful suggestions, so I'm opening this up in case anyone else out there can help you.

Xochi has just posted in the Ship saying she is having similar problems (from her pooter)..  Zaph has reported it for her.
