I'm sure the same type of thing happened after a marathon and an actor or celeb did the same thing and nearly died because of it, they drank too much water too quickly, can anyone else remember this?
It wasn't a celeb or actor, but I knew I remembered reading about it.

Blimey!! I drink loads of water in a short space of time if I get a feeling of a UTI coming on, and it usually does the trick. Shall be more careful in future.

Anthony Andrews almost died from water intoxication - see article
Scary stuff, I never would have thought of it

bloody hell!! that is terrible .... but I have heard about it before.
Will have to be careful then, I love water and drink lots of it

its good to drink plenty of water Darlo.... these intoxication cases are when someone drinks LOADS and LOADS of water... in a very very short space of time. In the case in the OP... she did it for a contest... in the ecstasy cases, people panic and force themselves to drink as much water as they possibly can.I don't think there is a need for you to regulate how much water you drink thoughout the day... that is good for you.
Oh right
, don't drink lots and lots but I do make sure I at least drink some water each day even if it's just one cup full
.
