Does anyone have one of these?  Washing machine and tumble drier in one.  I need to buy a new washing machine tomorrow and my drier has seen better days so I'm thinking a combi might be a good option considering I am always cracking up about where we have to keep the drier because of space.

I'm worried a combi machine might not last as long seeing as how it's doing double the work.

I've never had one, but the people I know who have had one, wouldn't recommend them. The drum tends to be smaller than a normal tumble dryer, so you have to split each load of wahing into two loads of drying. Also, if it goes on the blink, you lose the use of both washer and dryer.

edit to add: the laundry also takes longer to do, as you can only wash or dry at one time.

My kitchen isn't big so we have to stick the tumble dryer in the garage. It isn't ideal when it's piddling down with rain and I have to go out to bring in the dry clothes, but it's preferable to having a combo (imo).
