I think it’s great when languages and traditions are passed down. Neither of MrY’s SiL’s passed on their native languages (Welsh and Italian) to their children.

My dad used to garden for a colonial family who had come home from Malay in the 1950s ....I used to go and play with their kids .....they had some fascinating stuff in their house .
