Admittedly, I was totally green when I arrived at the shores of Caledonia. I remember going to the butchers in Paisley and asking for links. I had no idea, my useless Scottish husband did not help. TBF, I was chucked into the deep end (pregnant and all) and had to cope, which helped me with the language and the understanding of people. Reference:

I kind of liked them and the other thing I used to 'cook' was that fake bolognese soya stuff, I forget what it was called, but my kids loved it (by the time I had changed it into oblivion). ''
I'm sure I made 'em circa 1972? Two sachets. One with cheap rice.one with dry powdery possibly meat. One added water and stirred as a sauce. I'll have a look in the magic pantry.

I didn't know anything better until I took a truck full of furniture and the guy who owned them from Germany to italy. Long story very short, I ended up with the Italian mamma and she cooked the most delicious home made ravioli. Just spot on. I stayed for 4 days, just for the cooking. Reference:

I used to love Vesta beef curries. I was amazed to see that they are still made - I saw them in the 99p shop a few weeks ago

I used to remember vesta curries as being a huge treat on a Friday night cos my Mum worked late at the local co op so would need something quick and easy. I thought they were the height of exotic food!
Pam I still love Heinz ravioli - none of the others compare.

Batchelors Beanfeast - I had some for my dinner yesterday they do a chilli version now as well. My brother used to love Beef Vesta curry along with Findus crispy pancakes and those Sunday roast dinners for one that you used to pop in the oven (I guess you can microwave them now)
