Well, I was vegetarian for 15 years. I was really strict veggie too. Then when I was living abroad I was getting poorly and really stupidly thin because there was just no meat substitute. If you didn't eat meat, you ate salad....the end.  So I started eating chicken and fish.  I have been eating that for about 4 ish years now but to be honest i sometimes wish I didnt eat it. I would go back to being veggie tomorrow, its just laziness that stops me.

Oh yeah, here but I was living in Turkey at the time, and there wasn't any sort of meat substitutes, no quorn, no veggie cheese, everything was cooked with chicken or meat stock. If you said you were veggie you got looked at like you were weird.    I had been successfully veggie for at least 13 of those years before Turkey.

Some years ago me and my husband were veggie for about six months (still ate fish for obvious reasons ) - we'd seen a programme on TV about the state of slaughter houses etc. and were really put off. It went quite well from July to December and then ..................................Christmas happened - we couldn't do Christmas with no meat - that was it!

I do really enjoy meat - I think I'd find it hard to go veggie again.

I've been veggie twice, I get anaemic and suffer colds & flu's a lot after approx 6 months. After being turned away from blood donors once again, I was told to eat more meat or more cereal. Seeing as I was eating 2 bowls of cereal a day anyway, I decided to go get a big fat steak and have never looked back since! I do sometimes still choose veggie options though, I love a good nut roast

She used to say all the time about how bad it was there for veggies and how she was treated like a freak by her husbands family!

Yeah, I remember her She was really nice.  I remember she shared my rant of lack of turkish pavements.

We've been eaten meat since the dawn of time.  I bet no caveman thought to themselves: "hmm would a lovely looking leaf that is, I sure hope its tasty" When they had a triceratops to munch on.

I ain't changing for no one, YA HEAR ME!!!!!

Although I am a good boy and try to eat most veggies...excluding Cauliflower

same here, life without a bacon sarnie?? oh no!

I do eat a lot of veggie food (peeps quite often think I am veggie ) and am not a big red meat eater really, I usually go for chicken or fish - I'm having chicken risotto for dinner tonight actually (with peas, asparagus and spinach in) Still though, I know I couldn't cut it out completely, occasionally I fancy some lamb or steak - plus I need to eat em to keep my iron levels right, I keep getting anemic

On a more serious note from moi . . .

i have been veggie for a long time - never, ever missed meat - have zero desire for it anymore. I do eat veggie meat alternatives but they are nothing like the real thing if i'm honest - i eat stuff like that for variety alone and not as a meat replacememnt.

Remember chips n beans is veggie *stands proud*

i was in Ireland (a good few years ago), and we were gonna have some pub grub, i couldnt see anything veggie on the menu so i asked if they did anything - she said we have tuna lasagne

i dont miss meat, fish or poultry either, the one thing i do miss though are jelly sweets like haribo
