My birthday is two days before, which falls on the sat so going out then to a valentines night at a club (fancy dress...'saints or sinners' ) Then on Monday just going out for lunch somewhere quiet and then spending the evening at home in front of the telly with wine and chocolate.
As long as there's food....I'm happy!

I will be celebrating my youngest son's 21st Birthday
I shall be going to a Ladies only swimming session - as I always do on a Monday
It's my daughters birthday - she's being treated to a weekend away just before Valentines day so I guess I'll cook a dinner for all the family with a cake etc. and we'll have a little party (the grandsons love a little bit of a do).

A few drinks at the pub, then a Chinese on the way home. We always buy cards and a pressie, but the pressie is usually only a fiver's worth. We never spend a lot on each other, as there's too many things all year round to spend too much .. You don't need to be extravagant to prove you love or care for someone. Like you don't need to spend ÂĢ5K on an engagement ring or ÂĢ30K on a wedding to prove your love either.

Last time me and Mr G celebrated Valentine's Day was circa 1996 ...
Nothing
Erin..you have sense..It's a commercial load of auld pish!
Okay you really love someone deeply etc...so far so good. However you must buy them a tacky card and overpriced flowers to prove it..Pah!
We still have our lovey dovey days sometimes, even when Hallmark hasn't sponsored it
Probably get friends to have the kids for the night so we can plan something romantic but then most likely end up falling asleep on the sofa watching the soaps
The plan is cook him something to eat and get dressed up and do the whole candles sexy undies thingy.
The reality will be have a falling out during the day, decide he's getting fook all, changing my mind so scrambling to get dressed up at the last minute before he gets home from work. Ordering chinese and eating it on the sofa in my comfy pjs while the kids come downstairs a million times saying they are hungry/thirsty/annoying and ending up me going to bed early after the wine goes to my head and causes the inevitable headache!
