I remember the time when 'sell by dates' didn't exist.....we bought our prawns, shrimps from the 'Man in the Van' (gawd knows how long he had them before we bought a pint) and ate them on the day of purchase (Usually a Sunday).....still alive to type...

I did quite well this year though....I've just got an unopened joint of ham left, and that's it..... of course now I've got to stock up again for NY!!
I have a craving for Roast beef a Yorkshire Pudding for New Year......and I have enough nibbles to last well into the New Year........I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER PARTY FOOD!!!!!!!!

If it's a dumpling style pud (i.e. steamed) then it's much the same as frying black/white/ fruty puding(the stuff you get from a butcher's to go with your sausage and bacon fry-up).
