I'll eat veg too if it looks ok, you know if it's past it's best.  I'll toast bread that's out of date  - don't eat it in a sandwich just because it'll be dry and nasty.    I'll eat eggs that are a week or so past the best before too (i figure you'll know quick enough when you crack it open if it's off), but I don't take chances with fish or meat.   I'll chuck opened packets away after a day too - even if it says eat within three days.

I hate waste Sprout but I wouldn't risk being ill.

Prawns can smell fine but be off,it is such a risk to eat them after their sell by date .

I'm still here though  Having said that I'd only go a day after with prawns. It's not like you can cook them

Just stick to the coconuts.

Yep.... as long as they are in date

and refrigerated to below 5degrees

you are in a desert Isand .there are no fridges and the flippin coconuts are hanging on the trees

The fish is in the sea,so you eat it fresh everyday

I didn't even want to be on the soddin Island in the first place!!

If it hasn't been opened though, it should be fine. It's when the air gets to it, that's when it has problems
