I want a steam cleaner as they seem to be getting good reviews on the web. Started to look on Saturday and there are plenty of websites. It's just finding one that will do the job.

I mainly want it for the kitchen and bathroom, but upholstery would be a bonus.

Have been reading the Polti website.

A few years ago we got invited on a guided tour of the Numatic factory, I wasn't looking forward to it, but it was fascinating.  I saw Henry being born!

that's what I want - seen it advertised but was afraid to go for it in case it wasn't that good

I also wondered if it would be as good as demonstrated, I've no complaints

I would imagine it was an uncomplicated birth

Henry numatic is my hero after the last few I have had - so simple - nothing complicated to go wrong and no gimmicks

Henry is banned from being taken outside on wet or wintry days for car cleaning - men folk are best pleased as they have to use MrH's work one instead - they get a ban in the spring/summer as well if they dont wipe it down after use

Just to add, every year at Christmas we get a lovely framed print of Henry with a cute little girl (who I suspect might be called Hetty before they made her in to a pink vacuum) as a present off Numatic.  We also have assorted other Henry branded gifts, ties, tie pins, tool kits, first aid kits, lunch boxes etc etc.

Where's that Gypsie when you need her?

Cinds I had never really noticed them - went to my local care home coffee morning and they had just had 2 of the numatics delivered and was won over

I call mine henry but he hasnt got a name on him  as he is taller than the originals

That's what we call the contractors version, same as Henry, but it's called an NVR.

Its a bit late to add this but I used Vanish powerfoam on my sofa. Technically its carpet cleaner but it worked great on the upholstery fabric. I worked it in, let it sit, sponged it a bit and then vacuumed it. It removed dirt and left a lovely smell.

Thanks Rosie..I used that but with my couches being cream they need a deep clean and some muppet spilt grape Shloe on it at xmas..
