I think you should, hun. He'll probably give you something for the pain and something to speed up the healing process.
Hope you're ok. x

Go get it checked out as soon as, severe bruising is very very painful and the doctor may be able to give you something to ease the pain. Also you will know for sure, you haven't broken anything.
If the pain gets too bad, go to A&E.
Hope you're ok soon hun. xx

Aimee ,I fell down the stairs some time ago.One minute I was at the top next I was lying at the bottom,my bruise like your was black,I had no choice but to go to the doctor, the pain was bad,he told me that I has bruised the muscle deep under the skin.It took months to go away.
You need arnica cream and Ibuprofen, Aimee.
Bruising looks awful, and soft tissue damage hurts, but I don't think there's much your GP can do for you if you're physically able to attend the surgery, i.e. no broken bones

I sympathise Aimee, know how painful it is- I've still got two egg size lumps on my bot from when I fell down the stairs a year gone Easter! Not a lot they can do for bad bruising 'though, just painkillers. I'd use arnica cream and take arnica pills too
Best to get checked out Aimee.

i've got a massive lump on my thigh as well, you've still got one a year later
Ouch!
I've done it too.... somehow lost my footing at the top of the stairs... but I kinda bounced on the edge of each step, very fast... on the bit of my bum that is apparently my cocix (sp) bone.
I didn't have the bruising you describe... but I could hardly walk for weeks... or sit... unless on one buttock!
They doctor gave me some painkillers and told me to take brufen.
Scary experience isn't it...
(& bruised ribs are horrible!!)

To be honest, do you want to remember?
Wish I didn't remember when I last did my stair acrobatics.

Your dad is right. And no mountain climbing. If you can't manage stairs, mountains are a definite no no. And medium sized hills for that matter.
I hope it is nothing more than bruising Aimee.
Although bruising can be very painful.
I hope it soon eases.

Pure Arnica gel is the best thing ever for brusising. A while ago I was in an accident, there was pain and a lot of bruising by the time I got home. There was much more bruising on one leg than the other so I applied loads of Arnica Gel to it, I didn't put any on the other leg. Within two days all the massive bruising had gone from the worse leg, the one I didn't apply it to was still bruised.

I'm glad you haven't broken your ankle. I fell down the stairs two years ago and broke my ankle. It's a big deal because you need surgery to pin the joint together. With any "unbearable" pain you should get it checked out at your GP. Hope you feel better soon.
