Still a lovely song that brings back memories though.
That's the main thing isn't it?  It's often songs we're embarrassed to admit to which bring back the best memories

And I must admit to having that particular song on a compilation album somewhere

Ain't that the truth...fond memories of dancing around and laughing to this with my grandmother when I was a little girl

Scotty what a beautiful song, I've never heard it before.... perfect for a wedding when they have known each other inside and out for many years..

This thread is very aptly named.... all of it is 'unforgettable' to each and everyone that has posted in it..... Tiddles you are bloody fabulous for thinking and starting it... THANK YOU X

It's been awhile since I listened to that song . . . still it's good to remember a young girl who will be forever young.
Awww. Suzi. That song reminds me of when I was a teenager and had just left school.

Like PG, I'd never heard that song; it's now been purchased and is sitting on my i-pod.
Lovely stuff, Scotty.

Music's such a mood thing at times - if it catches you at a moment then it can live with you forever. It doesn't have to be the greatest record in the history of time but if it resonates within you and reminds you of something then that's all that matters.   Funnily enough, there is a really dated naff song that I can't help but have a daft affection for.  It reminds me of my 2 lads when they were little.  I used to bounce them on my lap whilst we were having a cuddle and I'd sing it to them.

They cringe if they ever hear it now - and so do I.  It's not what you'd call a good 'un.  But I suppose it captured a moment in time when we were a band of 3 fighting our way out of a bad time.

The song was Two Little Boys by Rolf Harris.

Yeah, I know.....

Marguerita - I will never forgive Liverpool FC for ruining that song.
It is one of the greatest songs ever written by one of the greatest song writers ever and they made it into a loutish chant.
Everytime I hear it I want to scream!

I prefer the original taken from the film Carousel,

I like the original to Isadora but I could not find it I like Gerry and the Pacemakers version too,I know what you mean about about Liverpool LF  ruining the song but I suppose it depends on which team you support
