Thank you ALL!!

No, thank YOU.

As some of you know, we took the Saga Louts (both sets of parents) out to Portugal earlier this year.  I've never laughed so much, so often, and for so long.  That aside, my dad who really should be disowned, decided he was having a Tom Jones moment and took to the floor.  To be fair, he didn't do any hip thrusting (he'd have slipped a disc!) but he did managed to gain a couple of granny groupies.

This song, amongst many, was his finest hour.

I'm so very, very sorry to have bought this to your attention.

Scotty Wont listen or i will be off , time does heal but the missing gets worse..IMO My mum died in 1977 , the shock has gone but her missing so many things hasnt. I am now coming up to the age my mum was when she died. That is a very weird feeling, i will now be older than my mum on my next birthday ....
Skylark  I don`t know what to say, other than I understand. I really do. I said time heals but the pain of missing them is always there..no matter how long they`ve been gone. It comes at unexpected moments..we`re remembering them. They know know that. Try, if you can, to take comfort from that.

Cos senior sounds a right riot! Did he do a proper Tom Jones and keep his *koffs* hat on?
I've no idea.  I slunk off to the bar and pretended to be Portuguese (which was more believeable than some of his moves).     I don't think I'll be getting my inheritance due to abandonment of a lunatic.

I asked my OH if he had to choose a song to remind him of me what would it be. I was thinking some soppy love song but noooooooooooo. He chose Michael Sembello - She a maniac.....from Flashdance

Not yet

He backtracked and said it was coz the first time we kissed we were drunk and I was trying to impress him by dancing (like a maniac). Soooo untrue but if it keeps him happy I'll let him believe it

I have. It's a great thread  Reminds me of a place I know where people can open up and feel at ease  Funny what songs people choose eh? Each one personal to that person. Some songs I don't particularly like but they still bring back good memories

He said I was drooling over him. I think he's confusing himself with Johnny Depp

Where is this place? I want to go there too

I think I know the person Tiddly Wink is talking about and she once told me she thinks this one is a bit good

Our.. first dance at our wedding in 1976 . Actually it was quite random ..........not chosen by ourselves - it just happened to be popular at the time - we didn't put a lot of thought and agonise over the first dance thing in those days did we? Still a lovely song that brings back memories though.
