Hello spipey! LTNS!

I think its the right call in this event, unlike the last. We in the UK can only sabre-rattle now and cannot do anything in a purely dual alliance like in Iraq because we don't have the military resources any more. And I think it may work in Libya because this particular nutjob doesn't already have the support of a large part of the country because he doesn't have the military power to call on to impose it like Saddam.

I am sitting on the fence with this one I dont know if we should interfere to the extent it could put us at risk of yet another war with another country, we have not got the resources we are having cuts and redundancies to the miltary as we speak, if it came to military action as it could well do we need America to stand with us and Obama has not sent a clear message that he would as far as I am aware,it is very sad what is happening in other countries we seem to pick and choose who we will help and not as the case may be..

I'm in two minds about this one too....I'm a bit sceptical about what's kicked all these protests off.  If it's a civil war I don't think the UN should be interfering.  But if it's a case that Gadaffi is getting his soldiers to go and kill civilians...then it's right that some one should step in and help them out.  Tis a thin line, I don't think any one wants another war.  I just hope they're certain this time.

Hi Xochi, hi everyone.

Yes our Royal Airforce is rather limp these days, with the immediate withdrawl of the Harrier strike aircraft and it's launch platform, the Ark Royal.  The Tornado GR4 is already overstretched with commitments in Afghanistan and squadrons being mercilessly cut in the SDSR.  That leaves only the Typhoon which is not capable of performing a strike role but could be used in patrolling air space but has never been tested in deployment so these are unchartered waters for the Typhoon.
