I'm seeing a lot of encouraging tweets, I don't think this will keep the Americans down for long. They are not giving up hope and asking for people to come together for the greater humanitarian good. Trump won't be in the White House forever, let's all support each other through the dark times and continue to look to make a brighter future

I'm starting to feel a teensy bit better. The truth is, I can't stay down for long--it's just not my nature. So, last night's 3-4 hours and today's 4-5 hours are all I can manage. And, after all, the sun came up this morning, despite my hand-wringing last night.

I haven't listened to He Who Shall Not Be Named's speech (not ready for THAT yet), but I heard it was "gracious", which was a surprise.

I did listen to Hillary's speech, which made me sad all over again that she lost. She was gracious and open, and even said that we owe him our open minds.

If you ever do bring yourself to listen to it, Lori, do try to stick with it to the end. Despite thanking the whole world and his dog, "He Who Shall Not Be Named" actually forgot to thank Mike Pence - you know, only the future Vice President, who only happened to be standing right next to him  - and had to stick in a quick "Thanks to Mike Pence" during the applause!

It's false. Trumps odds would need to have been astronomical. And the max payout is generally ÂĢ1m although you can get 2 on footie accumulators.

having just seen your post I thought I would type it in to Google and see what came up.

I'm very sceptical of Paddy Power's claim of 3,000,000/1 combined odds there. If I was to put my cynical hat on, I'd suggest they were exaggerating things for the sake of a good story and a bit of free publicity in the Mirror.

Firstly, I did a quick search of my own, and found that Paddy Power were offering Trump at "only" 13/2 back in September last year - longer than Jeb Bush (4/1), but hardly astronomical, and it's safe to assume that his odds would have been shorter at the start of 2016 when it started to look like he was pulling away from the other Republican candidates in the Primaries.

I haven't found clear odds for Brexit, but I think they were around 2/1 at the start of the year. (That may seem surprisingly short, but they actually went a fair bit longer later in the year, after a date was set.)

Based on that, combined odds of 3,000,000/1 smells of BS to me.

75,000 - 100,000/1 would be more realistic, IMO.

Secondly, odds of over 1,000,000/1 feel off to me anyway. I don't know much about how Paddy Power work specifically, but as Velvet says those sorts of odds are rare and bookies tend to avoid odds that may lead to winnings over ÂĢ1,000,000 on a ÂĢ1 bet.
