He thought it was Mike that was driving the car that killed his wife and daughter but Susan cofided to him that it was her actually driving and Mike took the blame.

Not sure who Mike married but seeing as Susan's ex was there I thought it may have been Susan as Catherine doesn't even really know Susan's ex (or at least we haven't seen them acknowledge each other). Then again why would Susan invite her ex to her wedding? I didn't want Susan and Mike to get back together....I can't stand Susan!
