Jedward to sing Ghostbusters

Terrible twins ... John and Edward Grimes

WHO you gonna call... to vote for?

Terrible twins John and Edward Grimes are set to sing the Ghostbusters theme tune for this week's X Factor.

Ghostbusters

There's something strange .... twins to sing Ghostbusters

The duo - who The Sun revealed stacked up the most votes on the show the week before last - are said to be tackling the famous Eighties' tune for this weekend's songs from the movies theme.

Last week head judge Simon Cowell told them their Halloween get up was like the "Night of the Living Dead".

This week's performance is bound to be otherworldly...

Lovely of Brian May (Queen) to praise the lads but that two faced git Brian Friedman needs to button it big time If he wants to raise his own profile he should try and do it by another means, not dissing two young lads who are bringing energy and fun to the show. Don't know why he's complaining, its the likes of Jedward that keep him in a job.

Britney Spears backs John and Edward

Pop icon Britney Spears has thrown her weight behind X Factor twin terrors John and Edward and proclaimed that she’s “a huge Jedward fan”, according to reports.

The 3 star has apparently been in "fits of laughter" while watching online video - on STV perhaps? - of John and Edward covering her hit song Oops! I Did It Again on The X Factor on the second live show (which you can see here).

A source said of Britney's viewing habits: "She has been watching all their performances on the internet - she is a huge Jedward fan.

"Britney thinks it's hilarious to see them up there singing her song and doing all the dance moves.”

Now it turns out that Britney and the Grimes twins may even team up together when she takes to the road again.

The source added: “She wants to meet them and has even suggested getting them on stage with her when she tours again for a bit of fun.

“Britney is supporting them big time and wants them to go all the way and win the show."

It’s been rumoured that John and Edward twins are set to tackle the Ghostbusters theme tune on this Saturday’s edition of The X Factor

Jedward fans target Cowell offices

The "Jed We Can" campaign championing 'X Factor' contestants John and Edward Grimes has been cranked up a notch.

ITN reports that self-styled "Jed Mania" campaigners waved banners outside Simon Cowell's offices and played the double act's rendition of the Britney Spears hit 'Oops... I did it again' from loudspeakers as they chanted about how much they love the pair.

They also projected the twins' faces onto the building where Cowell's SyCo company is based.

The stunt comes as the house where the 'X Factor' finalists are staying is under siege from fans who cannot get enough of the pair.

The "Jed We Can" campaign already boasts celebrities such as Lily Allen in its ranks but are set to add a potential British leader as well. ITN quotes sources as saying that UK politician David Cameron has already ordered a "Jed We Can" t-shirt and intends to wear it soon.

Queen guitarist a fan of Jedward

05/11/2009 - 12:44:24
‘X Factor’ group Jonathan and Edward Grimes have received praise from an unlikely source - Queen guitarist Brian May.

The Irish twins – who performed the group’s ‘We Will Rock You’ on last Saturday’s show - have been given the seal of approval by Brian May, the legendary guitarist who wrote and recorded the original track.

Speaking at the Marshall Classic Rock Roll of Honour awards, May said: “Do you know what – I’m very happy they’re doing the show and they put so much effort and life into it.

“I think: 'God Bless ‘em'. It was a great production, very impressive, good luck to them.”

As well as supporting the twins, the only group left in the competition, he also defended their lack of vocal ability.

Brian added: “It’s not the worst singing I’ve ever heard, and I’ve heard some bad singing in my time!”

Jonathan and Edward escaped a place in the show’s bottom two acts for the third time on Sunday when Rachel Adedeji was voted off the show.

The twins are set to perform Ray Parker Jr’s theme from the film ‘Ghostbusters’ on Saturday’s movie-themed show.

Meanwhile ‘X Factor’ judge Simon Cowell – who has previously branded Jonathan and Edward “vile” – is plotting to seal their fate by demanding they sing a slow song, which will expose the shortcomings of their vocal range.

He said: “It’s going to show in the weeks to come if they do a ballad. Then the public will decide if they should stay.”

Very true Hicky. I think most who are voting for them, are just doing it for fun I doubt any of them would buy their single or album.
The problem is, no-one is talking about the singers anymore, everyone is talking about the Twins. I'm not going to say anything about them because the public are entitled to vote for who they please. I'll still vote for Stacey whatever happens.

I just don't know where this saga is going to end.
But it's becoming an embarrassment for the show, no doubt.

If Britain wants to find a true singer from XFactor they shouldn't have the current judges on the panel.Louis and Simon are both guilty of inflicting crappy boyband singers on the world who can't sing or dance. Danni and Cheryl are hardly Maria Callas either. All four are involved in the cheesier aspects of the music business and therefore you will get acts like Jedward on the show.  I'm getting heartily sick of all the twin bashing, lets face it none of the other contestants are setting the world alight with their singing voices either, they are far from anything special (IMO!)

Although I don't watch XFactor, I like the twins.  I know they are not talented in the conventional sense, but they are exciting to watch.  I am following them now, so I suppose that makes me a TWAT.  Can I join?

I love watching their youthful exuberance and it's much better watching someone like them who can entertain you, rather than some dreary ballad singer who just stands there and bores the backside off you.  David Cameron likes them too, apparently.  So, if Gordon Brown doesn't like them does that make it political haha.
