Why show children, what they can't have and what would seem to drag them away from their idyllic lives?

Night night Syd
I watched the new Mitchell and Webb comedy called Back. I thought it was a good opening episode, made me laugh on a number of occasions and I will definitely be catching up with episode two.
Recommended if you have liked anything by Mitchell and Webb.
Upstart Crow - I only caught part of one episode in S1, anyone else watched and is it worth it?

I thought it was excellent - a real return to form for Ben Elton. The scenes between Shakespeare and his wife (Liza Tarbuck) where they contemplate the day's events before retiring for the night are also quite lovely.
Obviously you need to have some knowledge of Shakespeare to fully appreciate it (each episode is loosely based around a play or other work), but average school-level should be more than enough.
An abundance of riches tonight (Mon) - to the extent that I was considering starting a thread of it's own!
Firstly there's EastEnders and the fallout from last week's carnage to get through, however I'll finally try to make an effort to join the live thread for "Jamie's Quick and Easy Food" instead (I've been trying to follow the series from the beginning, but holidays have made it difficult).
Then there's three new series: the return of the lovely "Upstart Crow" (tonight looking at the "real" inspiration for Othello), and not one by two thrillers written by the Williams brothers Harry and Jack (who were responsible for "The Missing") - "Rellik" on BBC1, and "Liar" on ITV.
And just in case that's not highbrow enough for you, BBC2 are showing the first part of their new prestige documentary "The Search for a New Earth" - presented by Stephen Hawking, no less...
The Digital Recorder's going to be working overtime tonight...
I don't watch Eastenders, Eugene - but I'm hugely looking forward to the two series by the Williams brothers - thing is, their plots are so intricate, I'm wondering if it might be best to watch one and save the other so I don't get my brain too mashed trying to keep up!
