I'm looking forward to Ordinary Lies. I like a lot of the cast and the idea of all the storylines intertwining. (I expect some will be put off by the fact that one of the characters is played by Michelle thingy - Tina from Corrie though (from what I see on the trailers, she's playing pretty much the same character too)
Me too
I'm really enjoying it - even though I am shouting at them at times!

Did you want to grab the tin opener too and show them how to use it?

Yes. Surely they must have some sort of idea!
I'm finding this 'Ordinary Lies' programme hard going.

I'm off and need something to watch while cleaning the house. I'll stick Ordinary Lies on.
Be back with my musings later.
Ordinary Lies
Jason Manford, what can I say, he just did not sell the character to me. He can't act beyond a certain level. That character needed someone with lots more ability to carry it off. Take the scene with his boss, there was no tension or build up, there was no change in his character's delivery. If it were not for the music I would have thought he were just seeing his boss about a minor pay rise or a small accident he had had with his boss' favourite coffee mug.
Another scene which demonstrated his acting inability was when the three female co-workers came round to see him and his wife was emptying the refuse. No anxiety, tension, pressure, panic, fear, nothing.
Did anyone else not think that there were far too many employees for such a small dealership? There seemed to be dozens of office staff!!! They also have what is quite a large staff/canteen area, in one scene filled with staff, who was minding the store - the other thirty staff no doubt.
Best line for me; "It was not until I threw away his bowl and lead...".
The other storyline which kept me somewhat engaged was "missing Dave". Her character was always going to be "seeing" the boss, a bit transparent.
I will probably watch the next and hopefully as the other characters take the fore, Manford recedes into the background.

I kind of get what you mean... he was a bit limp - but then, I think the character was too.. so I didn't mind so much. I actually enjoyed the show though - and I like Jo Joyner, Sally Lindsay, Michelle Keegan and Max Beesley so I'm still in. I like series like this where they show the same situation from all the different character's points of view - and presumably the big reveal at the end will mean something to all or most of them.
I thought Jason Manford had it spot on, whether by good fortune or design,he didn't engender a huge amount of sympathy, or even likeability which was perfect for the character.
You say things so much better than me JB
Kings of Soul BBC4 now.

Raced through all five series of The Walking Dead [ literally, I watched it on my exercise bike ] Really thrilling + would recommend it.
Now I need to pick another Amazon Prime series to pedal along to. Started The Americans and might give Vikings a go. Was going to start Sons of Anarchy but Velvet says its carp and I trust his taste
Any recommendations?
b.t.w.I think Poldark is a bit meh so far
