Love this thread! I've been catching up with some reruns of thirtysomething recently. Gawd, I loved it at the time but now it seems like the biggest load of yuppie, navel gazing introspective claptrap. 'Quincy M.E.' will always hold a special place in my heart, and I used to adore the old tear jearking mini-series like 'Mistral's Daughter' and 'Lace'.
Oh I loved Quincey !
OMG... that's scary. I'm glad I'm too much of a wimp to go under the knife for owt that's not life threatening....
on topic.... I loved Moonlighting, Cos - and I'd forgotten all about it. I put my hands up to having a thing for Bruce back in the day. I used to like Falcon Crest too.
Whatdo youmean back in the day? Bruce is still hot
Some more series' I used to love:
Prisoner Cell Block H
Sunset Beach
90210 (THE ORIGINAL)
Charmed
Friends
Never heard of Gene Hunt Is it the new V or old on you are watching?
The New V and as for Gene Hunt - new levels of yum
I know its not very intelligent or pc but......PPPPHHHHHWWWOOOOOOAARRRRRR.............
Katerina.... I loved LOST and was a bit too fanatical about it kept up with everything online and was a member of a few LOST forums. ER was another fav but like you I missed the last series and also felt it should have finished long before.
I've heard Dexter might be good to watch, I did watch one ep but didn't get hooked. But if you haven;t watched Prison Break I think you'd like it....quite a few LOST actors in it so that's always good
sawyer....... mmmmmmmmmmmmmm....... sawyer
loved red dwarf
the young ones
ugly betty
tenko
probably more

Ella I loved Prisoner Cell Block H - why don't they show repeats of this?
About 20 odd years ago I went to see the stage show which starred the real life actors and we waited to meet Vinegar T*ts and Bea at the stage door
There are some great clips On Youtube
I also loved the original 90210 - not sure if they've ever repeated them?
Another two series' I'd like to watch old episodes of are Grange Hill and Brookside.
Grange Hill was fab when it was the Zammo years and then later the Ziggy and Georgina years
Cagney it was great wasn't it?
I watched it from the very start with Tucker, Big Alan and Benny Gripper Stebson
I used to have a huge crush on Ant Jones... think he went out with Georgina because I was jealous of her.
I used to love Degrassi Jnr High too
Also loved Wilderness Edge

Georgina was one of my fave characters along with Faye and Calley
Fay and Calley that's right
I'm pretty sure the actress who played Calley hooked up with Michael Winner in real life
I just googled and you're right Miss S

Did I just post a big blank space?
Blankety Blank?...........LOL.......
What a great thread, lots of series in here I loved.
Syd - the Sullivans! That gave me a jolt, I remember my mum loved watching that in the 70s I think it was.
Well obviously I can't do youtube links tonight (nothing to do with drinking a litre of vodka) so can someone post the Thundercats music for me? Pleeease?

Thanks Slimfern
Hang about coz you might have to be my personal youtube assistant for the night
I watched it in the 80s when children were babies.....that and Neighbours.......LOL.....
Neighbours is just about the only soap I have ever watched, although I tend to watch it for a year or so and then not bother for a few years!
Ella - what sort of stuff do you like watching?
Anyone remember The Space Sentinals - Hercules, Mercury and Astral?
I had a conversation with my kids ages ago about TV now. I said it was better in my day....they beg to differ. Nowadays there's too many channels so they end up filling them with crap. When there were only 4 channels the programmes might not have been better quality but you appreciated it more.
The best TV and movies came from the 80s

Could'nt beat the 'Welsh Channel' tho, that came on in the afternoon in England......and the Test Card........and the Ear Piercing sound, after the National Anthem when we all had to go to bed.....
I used to always fall asleep and wake up to the test card then in later years wake up to the Hitman and Her
Ella - what sort of stuff do you like watching?
Oh lots of stuff Veggie Right now I'm hooked on Dexter but on a weekly basis:
Neighbours
Home & Away
Eastenders
Desperate Housewives (returning soon YAY)
Jersey Shore
Chopped (great cooking programme on food network)
Law & Order Special Victims Unit
Friends (for the 100th time)
And in the past have loved LOST (right up there with Prison Break for best programe ever) Flashforward, Charmed, Shameless.
I'm looking for something that has nice twists and turns, that's not too predictable and doesn't run too long. I love programmes with a character who has a great mind (CSI, House) and storylines that aren't all about love stories.
In short......anything that's not supernatural, vampirish (sorry Saz), paranormal or scientific.
Watched the 'Good life' Christmas special on yubey tube last night - Brilliant!
My Dad watches all those sorts of things so I usually see a couple of episodes of the Good Life when I'm visiting him at the weekend... it still makes me smile.
I'm not so keen when its back to back Last of the Summer Wine tho.
