Yes, I did too Baz, but it saddens me when people with so much seem to forget about those working their way up. They are a rich family and should really do better by their staff. 

I am torn here, to work  (serve an apprenticeship) under a famous named chef brings your name to the front when applying for a new job........

Better than working in the Wimpy on any CV........

I find it disgusting that greed comes before everything else in this Country today...more and more are getting away with not paying the minimum wage, zero hour contracts and very little workers rights. Whether it be a chef or a cleaner, everyone should be entitled to a fair wage and in London £7.20 an hour is a pittance anyway. 

14 hour shifts at £5.50 an hour while he's charging up to £60 for a starter is unbelievably mean ..I hope he goes tits up

It gives him an unfair advantage against chefs that dont break the law which can help to enhance his name further like a self fulfilling prophecy.

It talks about  'people who have worked there'. When did they work there and what were wage levels like at the time?

Also it raises the question: Should wages be paid on the job's worth or the business' worth?

Having said that, no employer should be allowed to get away with paying less than the statutory minimum.

That in itself raises a whole new set of ethical questions.

Since the Guardian's news story of 17 November, Michel Roux's restauarant announced an immediate pay rise for some staff and a review into the working hours with a commitment that by next March, the maximum hours would not exceed 50 hours a week.
