Yes I do. It's also in quite a nice part of Sheffield and it's a Thornbridge pub, so if you like your real ales then it's great. Which band do you like?

Just sent me off on a tour of the internet there with the talk of Sheffield! I lived there for a year or so when I was 17 .. wondered if the Wapentake  and the Nelson were still there , and found a site with folk reminiscing about them

 

Just looked them up, will have to tell a friend of mine who is a Zappa/Beefheart fan. I'm sure he would enjoy them.

I recall both of them, but not places I frequented. If memory serves the "Wap" as some called it closed and morphed into another bar called Casbah (although I'm sure you may have read about it). I was drinking in a bar across the road on Saturday called Henry's (an old bar that recently re-opened).

 

 

I saw something about the Casbah, yep! Is the Broomhill Tavern still there do you know? Used to live round the corner from there 

 

Well I'm shattered. Just spent three consecutive days listening to a whole host of bands. So glad it's only once a year, I doubt I would have the stamina to keep that up !!!

 

Good fun though.

Glad you had a great time EC! Our festival is coming soon but it seems to be more about theatre groups and performance artists this time around.

I heard some good bands (one in particular - see video below). They are Blues/Rock and did some excellent Hendrix. A band I was very pleased to see live, the power and energy of their performance.

 

Will you be going to any of your events?

 

 

I'll have to get back to you on that one I haven't found any musical details for this year. It consists solely of arty, performance, illusions, magic, and if I may say so, other family orientated dross.

 

I'm not really a fan of 'magic' myself or some of the other street art type things, but hope you find somer music.

Ah! They've split it! The music happens the previous weekend. Primal Scream, spiritualised, Dexys, and the Proclaimers. Another dozen or so bands, and Richard Herring!

 

Now that sounds like a collection of bands I would in the main go see. Oh and Richard Herring - gooood 

Apparently it's thirty poonds per day. So we're out!

Ah, mine was £6 per day, but there was not so many big name artists. It was free last year!! I guess £30 would not be so bad if you could see the majority of artists. They charge around that for one band these days.

That's right! I've paid in excess for various bands. However, apart from Primal Scream I don't expect to pay anything for the rest of the menu. (It's costing about £150 for me and m 'dear wife to viddy CSN)

If i may say so, I can see the Y anytime I like for nothing actually ! But yes! Mrs Jer has been a big fan of Mr Nash for years.
