Maybe I am missing something but what has been done to them, have they been isolated from the rest of the UK.They are not looting because of economic climate, they are looting because they are thieving bastards.

Water cannon and tear gas are long overdue here, screw their human rights, they've taken away other people's human rights to a business and possessions.

I'm stunned at what's going on.

They've got none. It's a kind of 'gang' mentallity.

Well said  If you are disillusioned with your life - is this really the way to express it? Why attack the people who live alongside you? Is that any answer?

I spent many years protesting for animal rights/environmental rights/anti war etc. We were systematically threatened/arrested/attacked by police and often by the people we were demonstrating against.

There was never ever a shortage of police or the resources to crush us down so how is it that these kids are able to behave like this with impunity?

I may get shouted down for this but I think there is an element of being afraid to tackle these kids because of the 'Is it coz I is black' defence they will use.

Veg, I hadn't even got to the end of your post and I immediately thought a racist issue? Frightened to tackle?

Maybe but ...............i think it's purely a question of - where will they strike next - the Police departments are spread over a large area - if all your guys are out in Croydon and then it kicks off in Peckham - what do you do? I think cut backs in Policing have been going on for some time - if you need a huge Pol;ice presence in one particular area - what happens if there is an incidence close by?

I hope not - I know there's been damage in Colmore Row which isn't too far away from BCH but I guess if they're intent on causing damage it won't matter to them that there's a hospital in the vicinity with very sick children

Fair point Soozy, maybe some of it is down to logistics but I still think a big part of it is the fear of being seen as racist.

No doubt Diane Abbot and the rest of her ilk will be out in force soon with the usual apologist shite for these little scroats burning some poor family out of their home

At that age they know right from wrong...they steal and they know they shouldn't...stealing is an offence, they are criminals, or Young Offenders if you prefer

A mother of a very sick child in the BCH has tweeted that this is happening.

The world has gone mad.

No, this is too big for the police. It needs the army I think

If the police had used water cannon and tear gas we may have a different situation Pam....charging ten yards and watching them scatter and backing off is not working.
