Ditty hasn't accepted it yet as far as I can see.

I was genuinely angry at what you said Syd, it didn't just appear rude, it WAS rude, and I think it's wrong that you haven't apologised directly for the comment you made, instead settling for apologising for it's appearance. Sometimes a heartfelt genuine apology can build a lot of bridges.

Things are very different here then.

My niece's school are in the process of changing the school uniform.....so the school forked out and bought every child, already at the school, one of everything they needed, because the assumption is that the parents have already paid for the old style and it's not their fault that it is changing.

They wouldn't do that here.....they start with the new intake and eventually the uniform changes for all. Miss K's old school now has 3 yrs in the new one and a couple in the old

They would'nt do that here they'd just change it start of year but I did read my old school in England gave them all free uniforms when it changed to a sporting academy..because out uniforms were very expensive....

Maybe it's an Academy thing then Stonks? Because that's the situation my niece's school are in. I have seen other schools just change it a year at a time, as the new one's come in, so eventually every year is wearing.

I couldn't do that though! It would drive me crazy people being dressed differently! Maybe the Heads that pay for new uniforms are a bit OCD?

Nothing is going to change if the police aren't allowed to police the streets with authority. It sickens me to see them behaving with near deference to criminals because they're worried they'll be investigated by the PCC.

It's the same thing with teachers in schools....kids get away with murder because they know they can't be touched by their superiors!

And Tony Blair's and Barack Obama's.....style and no substance all of them, the rest are simply dicks..every man jack of them

''my thoughts exactly kaffs,

i especially  think this part is pertinent, moral pygmies...hahaha

Of course, Mr and Mrs Cameron, your son is right. There are parts of society that are not just broken, they are sick. Riddled with disease from top to bottom.

Just let me be clear about this (It’s a good phrase, Mr and Mrs Cameron, and one I looted from every sentence your son utters, just as he looted it from Tony Blair), I am not justifying or minimising in any way what has been done by the looters over the last few nights. What I am doing, however, is expressing shock and dismay that your son and his friends feel themselves in any way to be guardians of morality in this country.

Can they really, as 650 people who have shown themselves to be venal pygmies, moral dwarves at every opportunity over the last 20 years, bleat at others about ‘criminality’. Those who decided that when they broke the rules (the rules they themselves set) they, on the whole wouldn’t face the consequences of their actions?

Are they really surprised that this country’s culture is swamped in greed, in the acquisition of material things, in a lust for consumer goods of the most base kind? Really?

jacksonb

There is hope for this country. But we must stop looking upwards for it. The politicians are the ones leading the charge into the gutter.

David Cameron was entirely right when he said: “It is a complete lack of responsibility in parts of our society, people allowed to think that the world owes them something, that their rights outweigh their responsibilities, and that their actions do not have consequences.”

He was more right than he knew.

This means you and your kind Dave.
