Bloody Hell, that makes me even more sad, that people are going to opportunistically nick/order a can of Febreeze, a bag of Tesco value rice or a few bags of sweets

I've just come in from taking the washing in and really going now, and just stopped to take one last look, but oh, how I wish I had a name for him. Well, I have, but I can't let it out on here

Soozy, yer 'avin a laff aren't ye......apart from electrical and  'sports clothing' goods, haven't seen any 'good shops' done yet, it's all Aldi, Primark. local yellow 9ct gold jewellers etc.etc. etc. Gawd, that sounds awful, but has Harvey Nics, Mulberry, Bang and Olufsen etc. etc. been looted , NO.......they're setting their sights pretty low

Because I do not believe that the people doing this are any of the above.

I think, maybe, we're at cross purposes? i'm talking about those who have been 'well educated' and  are privileged who are robbing bastards...not suggesting that they are involved in the current looting etc. bloody hell they are far too 'clever' for that

Mindless ,lawless, vandalism and they do it because they want to and they can. I dont think for one minute it's because of rising student fees, the lack of employment opportunities or youth facilities.

I  broadly agree..for some, but not far all......anyways I'm in a minority of one or so here, so I'll shutup now.....But, before I do so, let me make it absolutely clear, I don't condone or excuse what's happening in any way shape or form......Just trying to analyse/ understand it beyond the theory that it's down to shite parents who don't give their kids a good hiding

Well, at least they can't blame the Muslims for this!

Or can they.

Personally, I think there are so many answers, that none of them are the answer.

I mentioned Lord of the Flies, yesterday, and I also think that this is an extreme example of the Madness of Crowds. The fact that social networks and BBMs were being used, made the escalation of the problem frighteningly quick.

From what I've seen, these are not, on the whole, 'angry yoofs', although it certainly seemed to start from a stand point of bitterness against the police. I think Stop and Search is still causing problems and those who experience it frequently, despite being innocent, are likely to resent the police to some extent. However, the police were really only the target in the beginning, and the madness that came afterwards was something completely different. There was a mania about it, like kids being let loose in a sweet shop (that doesn't sound strong enough, but you know what I mean). This was fun, with a sinister twist. There was camaraderie. Nobody was stopping them and they could do what they wanted!

All we do know is that the majority of these people would not normally behave like this on a day to day basis, otherwise the crime figures would be through the roof.
